Music- Favorite/best one-album artist…

Not sure if this has been done before, but what the hell…

Not sure what’s the best, but I know my fave is pretty damn good…

Interested to see what answers come up…

Sex Pistols- Never Mind the Bollocks, Here’s the Sex Pistols
(The Great Rock and Roll Swindle and bootlegs don’t count)

Shoutout to Lauryn Hill- The Miseducation of…….

Like I stated previously, punk bands are at home in this thread. Unfortunately, their lead singer’s surname perfectly described their demise- though other band members found success elsewhere after the “crash”…

And dying so close to the murder John Lennon overshadowed any news of Darby Crash. Punk’s not dead, but punks not loved…

Attila

A late 60's Heavy Metal keyboards-vocal/drums duo, featuring a very young Billy Joel!!

This band might be AngryViking's favorite band!!

Not the worst rock album ever made, not even close. Joel's really grooving there. LOL. I think it was a mistake to market themselves as a metal/hard rock act, though. Or maybe they should've added a guitar player to fill out the sound.

I had heard about this album for years, but was never inclined to check it out based on it's reputation as "the worst album ever".

But actually, it's really not that bad! Sure, the lyrical themes are a bit silly, but Billy's really on fire here with the distorted organ & utilizing a Wah & bass pedals. The drummer does a fine job as well.

I give it a solid 8/10😎

What an act, and a young Billy Joel too….wow

I was thinking AngryViking’s fave would be something in the Rammstein realm or maybe of the King Diamond-like sort….

Salut….

Milla Jovovich - The Divine Comedy

Haha, I’m gonna have to check that out….

This was tough as a few that popped into my head did have more than one album much to my surprise. Ones that I like:

Jeff Buckey's Grace

Temple of the Dog

The Flir- Please Please Please (not a full album)

I was waiting for a Jeff Buckley mention, and it’s S… and the next poster follows it up….

He was good, taken too early… a girl I worked with cried for days ….our university wasn’t too far from the Mississippi River, and she went to the banks and tossed some flowers….yeah, safe to say she really liked him….

I went to college in the Bible Belt South, and every time I heard “Holy Roller,” I let out a little laugh…

No doubt on this one - if the artist released one album and one album only...

It has to be "Never Mind the Bollocks, Here's the Sex Pistols"

reply

Cant argue with that, as I stated in the OP, that’s my easy pick…

reply

Is that right? Didn't even notice.

I just went by the title of the thread.

Great - we're on the same page.

Yeah, I don't know that there is any other case of a band releasing one album, and one album only - with it having so much impact.

God Save the Queen!

I'm more of a song person (good thread idea?)

Pink Floyd - Dark Side of the Moon
The Doors - L.A. Woman
Chicago - VII
