🎥MovieChat MovieClub Event: Friday/Saturday Features #45 🍿

About this weekend’s 4 picks; The first pick is a mix between Valley girls and Once bitten. The second pick is a DVD I’ve been meaning to watch and when I saw it was on Tubi I saw it as an opportunity to watch it with you. Saturday is a Netflix combo special: The third pick won’t need captions BUT you won’t listen in the original language and nor will I! Finally we’ll close the weekend with a M Night Shyalaman film. Should be interesting and make for good times!

This Movie Party will allow two things to happen:
 -people will be able to watch the same movie at the same time and interact here
-people will be able to have common movies to watch over the weekend and share reviews on my other weekly thread.

I saw that in theaters no less. I remember liking it but thinking it wasn't as good this one. If I remember correctly it was only a loose remake.

Yeah, I remember when I watched it I liked it, and thought it was rather different, but not as good. But I don't remember much else.

It was pretty good, just not as good as this. It was one of those needed remakes.
Ethan Hawke and Laurence Fishburne were in it so it's a solid cast.

IK IK, I WAS IN A WEIRD ASS DEPRESSION STATE FOR LIKE a minute.....AND LIKE HE ALWAYS DOES, BIG K OVERREACTED

maybe its the fact that my phone stopped working tdy and i have to wait a couple days to recieve my new phone, which sucks cause i have 2 hour classes this week due to block schedule and im gonna be bored to death

I understand how she feels. I feel that way today too. Although I did have lunch with my brother who I haven't seen in forever, and it was actually pleasant. But yeah, I've been really mad at the world lately.

i am pretty much going through the same thing, kind of! i had a great day today, but my phone stopped working tdy and i have to wait a couple days for my new one. I have to deal with block schedule ( 3 classes a day, 2 hours each) and i am going to be bored outta my mind since i get my work done quickly....so yeah.

Oh you poor thing you don’t know who the killer was let me explain it to you real quick: because of their project, they had to shut down the farm, and the farmer killed himself. The farmer had a son, and we barely see his face on the newspaper one of the girl picks up. The farmer’s son avenge his father by killing the people from that building project.

Austin Stoker really carries a lot of this film, it sucks he didn't have a bigger career.

The Napoleon Wilson character is cool, but I feel like Darwin Josten didn't totally bring the character to life the way Carpenter had written him.

Carpenter had already perfected it with Escape from New York. And also Walter Hill and Ridley Scott with Ripley.

Oh I see what you're saying. I was specifically talking about the character type, Napoleon Wilson in this would later get refined into Snake Plissken. That's why wherever I watch this, I imagine what it would be like if Kurt Russell had played Wilson. I like the guy that did play him, but something wasn't quite there yet.
