Have you ever noticed that the majority of crime are from people who live around a block somewhere? It's hardly ever a person living alone on a farm.
shareI'm guessing that you're joking, but obviously, if you have significantly less than the median income, you rarely live in a house in the U.S. And the majority of people who commit the types of crimes that are often detected are low-income people.
And even people living on farms were as likely to commit crimes, those areas are not the main focus of police of course. Innocent people in Low-income neighborhoods see more police than farmers.
Asians immigrate to this country poor all the time, and in one generation are financially stable without committing any crimes. It is not the income...

That doesn't change the fact that low-income people are committing more crimes in every country, and low-income people rarely live in a house in the U.S. Prisons in every country are filled up with low-income people primarily.
What makes people go to prison is a variety of reasons, but the half of the story is often:
Lower IQ which leads to Lower income, more struggle over time. You have less to risk and more to potentially gain because you're already at or close to the bottom.
Both in the U.S. and Scandinavia the average prisoner has the same education level. The Education level is closely linked to IQ. So Yes Low IQ and what that leads to, seem to be a big reason why people have little income and are more likely to commit crime.
