The 2000s lasted less than 1990s and 2010s

Anyone else has this feeling that the 00s were very brief, they passed too fast...

I remember a "Nostolgia Trend" for two decades prior, starting in the '70s with the '50's (Happy Days,Sha Na Na, etc) the 80's with the 60's, the 90's with the '70's, some of the 80's in the 00's, but that's where the whole "20 years prior" nostalgia trend seemed to come to a dead halt.

I think I agree. The early 2000s were mostly a spillover of the late 90s, until around 2004 or so. Then 2005-2008 felt and seems like its own distinct era. Then, post-2008, once the iPhone dropped, it kind of ushered in the 2010s a few years early.

Yes, maybe the 90s lasted past 2000, it was a single era 1992 - 2005. Something is telling me that the 2020s will feel brief in the future due to covid

reply

I agree with your agreeing. Eras are better defined by the culture, rather than the numeric value on the calendar.

Smartphones certainly ushered in a new cultural era. AI and AR will likely define the next.

2000's were best years of my life, except for the 1980's. Nothing beats the 80's. However, you are correct. Went by very fast.

reply

They went by normal for me.

It's 2020 onward that seems to be going by pretty fast.

reply

Time passes quicker the older you get.
