Flying Cars dont necessarily mean optimistic future

I think the misconception came from Back To The Future II(1989) with the DeLorean being able to fly i mean Blade Runner and its Sequel have Flying cars and their futures are grim in a cyberpunk world.

Humans can't even drive on the road without being stupid, so I don't think adding air to driving is a good idea.

Just add "car falling on you while on a walk" to the list of fears.

Or you're just chilling in yo apartment, on the fourth floor & bam! There's a a car in your bedroom. 😆

It's a romantic ideal, borne out of countless sci fi movies from the 30s up to the 70s.

The problem is not building or inventing a flying car...thats the easy part. Its how we manage the millions of vehicles that will be up in the sky. Will drivers need to have a flying licence? What about flight paths? What happens if there is an accident?

Frankly, taking all of the chaos we see on the roads and moving it to the sky...well, that's the reason it has not happened.

No, rhe idea of flying cars dates at least back to the 1960s or 1950s, if not the 1920s.

"Star Wars" had a flying car in q977, remember? Yeah, Luke's junker of a "speeder" was a flying car. Or at least a hovering car.
