I believe one shares something in the rough neighborhood of 1/8th genetic heritage w/ a 2d cousin - i.e a cousin of one's parents, 1/16 of that cousin's children.
So, I wouldn't expect much of a resemblance - I don't look anything like any of the few 2d cousins, etc., I've ever known.
No, don't see much of the 'The King' in there, atall.
That's a "first cousin, once removed", not a second cousin. First cousins share one pair of grandparents. Second cousins share one pair of great-grandparents.
You don't share any grandparents or great-grandparents with a cousin of one of your parents, because you two are in different generations, hence the "once removed" part. Your grandparents would be your parent's cousin's aunt and uncle.
I stand corrected. So 2d cousins share something clustered around 1/16 common genetic inheritance. Which renders the prospect of strong resemblances, again, fairly unlikely.
Whatever the actual percentage is, it's insignificant for all intents and purposes, which is why second cousins are legally allowed to marry in every US state.
Assuming recombination in every generation is roughly 50/50, that would be roughly 1/16. But because recombination is stochastic, it could vary widely.
The 1/16th is just a benchmark to quantify rough genetic distance.
