Ever stayed at a 5 star hotel

Where?

reply

Various hotels in Las Vegas (e.g. Aria and Cosmopolitan.)

reply

Wouldn't consider those 5 star hotels. Wynn/Encore is the only true 5 star Vegas hotel.

reply

Okay I also stayed at the Wynn, so there.

reply

Mandarin Oriental and MGM Sky Lofts are also 5 star.

reply

I walked through one once. Filled with fake shit. Wasn't impressed. Plastic plants and all that. Plenty of wear on the carpets. Pressboard furniture. Usual hotel shit. But it was very clean. I'm convinced more than ever it's just expensive to keep out the riff raff. It's not actually luxury conditions.

reply

FAKE PLANTS...WORN CARPET...PRESSBOARD FURNITURE?...5 STAR HOTAL...NOT A FIFTH OF A STAR HOTEL.

reply

When I worked for a federal agency in the 90s they would have regional conferences and one year they had one at the Ritz Carlton on Amelia Island, FL.

reply

Yes, in Lisbon. It was during the financial crisis in Southern Europe, so pretty cheap. I think the Disneyland Hotel in Paris might also be a 5 star hotel.

reply

Chateau Lake Louise

reply

Various Ritz Carltons in the US.
The Arizona Biltmore
The Homestead Resort in Virginia
The 12 Apostles (in Cape Town, SA)
The Doral in Miami (long ago, before Trump)
Probably a few others along the way that I've forgotten.
