What is the ideal movie runtime for you?

Does it depend on the genre?
I like shorter movies (between 90 and 120 min), but I've found that mostly animated and horror movies fall into this category.

It's still a good answer. I watched "Once Upon a Time... In Hollywood" in the theatre, and it felt like it was an hour long.

100 minutes.

Any movie that under 80 minutes you know hasn't got alot going for it.

reply

Less than two hours

But then again I don't watch movies anymore

reply

90 minutes

Gregg, is that you?

reply

It does depend on the genre. For horror and comedy, no more than 90 minutes. There are far too many horror and comedy films that push two hours and they just drag. For an epic or fantasy/historical/drama 150 minutes seems about right. I would say for most others 105-120 is ideal. Of course there are exceptions. Personally I wish most movies were a little bit shorter and some a lot shorter.

As long as they need to tell the story.

When I got to the movies, I don't like to go to far over two hours, though I sometimes go to a longer movie anyway. With something that long I liked to be able to take a break if I want to.
