Did you know that David Byrne is (slightly) on the spectrum ?

Big fan. This doesn't surprise me. There is a sort of slightly disconnected innocence in a lot of earlier writing, as if he is talking himself through how to operate in life :

No surprise really. Most creative people tend to be somewhere on the spectrum.

I heard that he's "self-diagnosed", which if true, raises all kinds of red flags when the person in question has been known to be a complete asshole at times.

And you may ask yourself, why didn't he go to the doctor?
And you may ask yourself, "how far in the spectrum?"

😂

Eh, he's the same as he ever was.

It doesn't surprise me either. However, I've always wondered how much of Byrne's "eccentricity" is genuine and how much of it is "contrived," to a certain degree.

By the way, Byrne would probably never call himself a "great guitar player," but I just love his playing on the acoustic version of "Psycho Killer" that appears on "Stop Making Sense." Also, his playing on "Burning Down The House" and "Take Me To The River" (which is actually a cover of an Al Green song, if I remember correctly). He definitely makes the most of his talent and I think he's a great songwriter...very creative indeed.
