Social construct.

What do we all know and think about it, does it officially exist, is it in general a good or a bad thing, thanks.

Also, if I or someone ala "The Matrix" (1999), wanted to break out of it, because it is frustrating, puts a lot of pressure on us and has a kind of discipline that even in the name of good and order, may crush spirit, are we free to do so?

I for one definitely feel like I want to break out of it. I don't think social construct overall is a "bad thing", per say. But it can be stressful. And short of being a criminally offensive violator or an unbearable asshole here and there, I don't want to be too much of a rule follower, well, either.

Also, it seems to me like we all live in one. And we all sometimes want to break out of it. Let us enjoy freedom and for the most part to do what we want, thanks. Having said that - political correctness also consumes us. And also - we can't break, sorry, MAKE omelette without breaking eggs, you can't have total freedom without offending someone's sensibilities. NO MATTER if you're male, female, your nationality, religion, orientation, person qualities, IQ levels, tolerance etc.

And can we do it in a way that's nice and simple and not even Matrix-like violent? Don't worry, you won't see me shooting anyone. Cheers.

I went to McDonald's because the spicy chicken MCNUGGETS are back and they didn't have them. I was in the drive through and there were already cars behind me. I couldn't back out. The car directly behind me was blue and there were two people in it. The car behind them was white and I think there was only one person in it but there might have been more if they were small. I wanted the spicy chicken nuggets. I enjoy them. I don't think it was fair of life itself for me to have to sit through that drive-through experience as a human being and then not get spicy chicken nuggets with ranch dressing, medium fries, and a Dr Pepper. NO MATTER if you're male, female, your nationality, religion, orientation, person qualities, IQ levels, tolerance etc.

Did it have top wallpaper?

reply

No, but I saw a bucket of about 5000 extra "etc's"

He’s a troll. I don’t find him amusing anymore.

reply

I am back to thinking 80% likely troll and 20% likely spectrum motor head.

Whichever. I don't feel driven to a delicate touch anymore. Now I just want to hit him with as many couch pillows as I can throw while he runs across the living room shouting "Is philosophy philosophical?!"

“80% likely troll and 20% likely spectrum motor head”

Why not both?

reply

Oh shit. My pattern has indicated two-dimensional thinking. This never occurred to me.

One way or the other, it always drives me to grapple. (just not to the last nor from Hell's heart)

While I still think you really need therapy, I really want to ask you what sort of freedom do you want. During the pandemic so many people were complaining about losing their freedoms. Freedoms to do what? Not wear a mask? Okay?

So do you want to just live by yourself in the middle of no where and survive that way? Society can't exist without rules. So, do you want to be without society? Then you can have all the freedom you want.

reply

Don’t feed it.

reply

I know, I know....but I am always really curious what freedoms people say they want that we don't currently have.

reply

We’ve never had it so good. Anyone in a first world country that complains should try living in a third world country.

I do understand some concerns. Like in Canada, we have First Nations communities who don't have clean drinking water. In Canada!??! We have so much fresh water that we give it to Nestle for practically nothing, but we can't have drinking water for the indigenous populations.

reply

Well, its not too bad actually, and I don't mean it all in practice either. Its just I had some moments in life related to discipline here and there and people speak bluntly to me here, its not about masks or anything during Covid in fact here I prefer to wear one.

Come to think of it all, maybe we don't need to make changes at all, but maybe, who knows?

reply

You still haven't said what freedoms you are looking for away from the social construct.

reply

I suppose what people are also trying to say here - its important to not only respect its content but FORM too, right? And if at school, at home, with family, with grandparents etc people tend to be blunt, strict and authoritarian and, minus some very obvious cases of either rudeness or de-facto abuse, there is nothing really wrong with that and its not always supposed to be light, playful, helpful, explanatory, indulgent etc etc etc? Thought so.

reply

Yes, realizing that any interaction with another human being has the potential to go wrong and cause offense is the first step in developing normal social skills! And the second is realizing that not everyone will forgive you for offending...

Seriously, this one reason people love nature. The trees and birds don't get huffy if you say something thoughtless, they carry on being peaceful and beautiful.

if you could channel all this into a something interesting, it would be welcome on moviechat.
