"Who rescued who?" the bumper stickers I see on cars of people too loser to seed.

It is "WHO rescued WHOM?"

Near miss always sounds odd to me. Surely it's a near hit? A miss is a miss.

It would be nice if people investigated the meaning of this word before using it to label EVERY moderately interesting, slightly unusual or amusing thing they witness or hear of.
