Rear wheel drive cars are so much more comfortable

I own one. I realised this sitting in the back as a passenger. You have the force under you. It makes a big difference.

The other day I was in a front wheel drive car and I thought “it’s like being in a carriage and the horses are in front, pulling you. It’s nowhere near as nice.”

Because of this I hope to drive rear wheel drive cars for life.

reply

What rear-drive car do you own?

I have an MX5 (rear-drive) and a MINI Countryman (all wheel drive).

The MINI is more comfortable, but the MX5 offers more fun per-mile.

Last time I sat in the back of a rear-drive car was when my dad had a Ford Sierra in the early 90s: I remember it had stripy seats but I don't recall how comfortable it was.

I used to own a Sierra Ghia (I think it's the only RWD I've owned). Really nice car. Comfortable. Lovely trim. Fair bit of poke (2.0i). Never rode in the back though.

reply

Nice, Ghia was the posh one my dad only had the GL.

I have a ford falcon. It's a sports car/family sedan.

Put that baby in sports mode and it takes off.

Long distance drives I've let my brother drive and I sit in the back. It's a lot more enjoyable feeling that power under you.

Is this some rare occurrence I’ve just witnessed???

😳😳😳😳😳😳😳

reply

I thought so too, but it's merely a cut and paste quote.

reply

I though so, too. 😱😲

reply

And just how old is your Ford Falcon??

reply

Only hairdressers drive FWD cars.

rear wheel are bad in the snow especially on inclines. they are practically useless.

My Volvo 200s use to be just fine in the snow. Second only to my Subarus.
