Honestly, he's never made any I've truly hated.

My faves are Snatch and Fight Club. He's been in other great ones like Se7en and Ocean's 11.

BRAD PITT IS ONE OF THOSE ACTORS...YOU DON'T DISLIKE THEM BUT YOU DON'T "LIKE" THEM EITHER...THEN ONE DAY YOU LOOK AT A LIST OF THEIR FILMS AND REALIZE THEY HAVE MADE ONE SOLID FLICK AFTER ANOTHER...DUDE IS SOLID.

SOME OF THE ONES I LIKE JUST A BIT BETTER THAN THE REST.

WORLD WAR Z. 8/10

FURY. 9/10

ONCE UPON A TIME IN HOLLYWOOD. 10/10

THE MEXICAN. 8/10

COOL WORLD. 7/10

The fact that you've got Cool World in there...nice.

I've recently be watching or re-watching a lot of those '80s adult animation movies, the stuff that Bakshi put out, but also stuff like Rock and Rule and The Secret of NIMH (which is for kids, but I think it's part of that pack). There's something fantastic about them that we can't (or won't) replicate anymore. They're like film noir: it was a specific era that did this thing and it's gone now and it's not really coming back.

I'm not such a big fan of Cool World, but I dig that you dig it, and it's one of those movies I love as much for what it *could* have been as much as for what it actually was.

MY AUNT NANCY RECORDED IT OFF HBO FOR ME( AS SHE DID WITH 100S OF MOVIES)...I WAS 11...SO OBVIOUSLY I WATCHED IT REPEATEDLY...AND NOW IT IS A PART OF ME...ONE OF THOSE FILMS LIKE MANNEQUIN OR HOWARD THE DUCK,WHICH MANAGE TO FIND THEIR PLACE ON A NOW 40 YEAR OLD ME'S ALL TIME FAVORITE FILM LISTS.

reply

Yeah, childhood favourites will do that to a person. Cool World would be particularly gonzo for an 11-year-old, too. Just enough cartoons to feel like fun, and those elements of a grown-up world that would be, at that age, inaccessible and misunderstood (if understood at all), but so enticing. Yup, that'd land it solidly in the ol' psyche for sure.

I loved his performance in Burn After Reading,

He was very funny in that movie.

12 Monkeys immediately sprang into my head, but upon review...

Interview with the Vampire, Fight Club, Snatch, Spy Game, Ocean's Eleven, Inglourious Basterds, and Once Upon a Time...in Hollywood all are contenders as well.

It's hard to compare all of these films. They span genres and styles. Ultimately, it's coming down to my gut. My gut tells me to go with Fight Club.

Why? It's the best showcase of Pitt.

I prefer other movies on the list, but Snatch, Ocean's Eleven, and Inglourious Basterds are ensemble pictures, not reliant on Pitt for their brilliance, and Interview with the Vampire has Pitt getting overshadowed (in my opinion) by Tom Cruise, and kinda Kirsten Dunst, too. That leaves 12 Monkeys, Spy Game, and Fight Club.

He's a scene-stealer in 12 Monkeys, but ultimately he's supporting and it is Willis' movie. Spy Game is a pretty even split; Robert Redford shines as much (often more) than Pitt does. But while Edward Norton is arguably the lead in Fight Club, Pitt has a tonne of screen time, is way more memorable, does one of his best performances, and depending on how you're thinking about his character, he might be the lead anyway.

So, while I might prefer other movies, if we're talking about what's the best "Brad Pitt Movie", I'm going for Fight Club.

World War Z, Troy and Fury. I liked the edited TV version of Seven but the crime scenes were too graphic when I saw an R-rated or uncut version.

A River Runs Through It
Fury
Seven Years in Tibet
The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford
Ad Astra

I saw someone mentioned Troy and I've actually never seen that one. Worth watching?
