She also reported that on at least one occasion, Orellana-Arias entered her apartment while her daughter was home alone. He appeared to be startled when he saw her and left immediately.

Why would she set up cameras to find out who was doing it when they already caught him? And why would he even go back knowing he was caught once?

reply

Maybe she wanted proof to show to the cops...the landlord is a pervert, pervs can't help themselves

reply

The way the article wrote it sounded like she didn't know so she set up the cameras. One thing I didn't consider though was maybe she didn't see his face when he was caught

reply

Maybe...

The Police should really grill this guy and look into his background

Any person that breaks into a home to sniff laundry may have done even more serious crimes, a guy like that just can't act right and is a danger

reply

Must explain why Kowalski asked me to be his alibi.

reply

When KOWALSKI breaks into a place he's just there for the DVDs😆

Ever heard of this guy? https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Russell_Williams_(criminal)

A very unusual case. Most perverts start acting on their urges early on, in adolescence or earlier. Williams later admitted he had sick impulses since his teenage years, but he didn't act on them until he was past forty.

Williams was a colonel in the Royal Canadian Air Force and the commander of CFB Trenton, Canada's largest military air base. A star in the military. When Queen Elizabeth and Prince Philip visited, he was the pilot who flew them around.

He started off small, breaking into women's homes while they were away and stealing (and probably sniffing) one or two bras and panties. Many of those acts were probably never detected; who counts their underwear to see if it's all there?

When he realized he wasn't going to get caught -- he was smart enough to plan his crimes well, and the police would never suspect a distinguished man like him -- he went further. He tried on his victims' underwear and posed for photos while he was in their homes. The photos would be funny if this were fiction instead of reality -- a stern-faced man with a military buzz cut, not exactly standing at attention but with a posture that was ramrod straight or close to it, wearing female undergarments.

For this type of person, it's not just the sexual thrill. It's the adrenaline rush from taking a chance. But if one knows one won't get caught, there's no risk and no rush. So that person is driven to go further, escalating his crimes. Williams left notes for some of his victims. In at least one case, he lurked in a closet while the victim returned home. His crime spree went to sexual assault and finally murder.

I think you're right -- if Orellana-Arias hadn't already committed more serious crimes, he would have later on.

I have heard of him, totally creepy case

There was a made-for-TV movie about it. Pretty decent: https://www.imdb.com/title/tt2223824/

reply

I'll have to see if it's available, I like the crime stories

reply

It's on Amazon video, for $5. I don't have Amazon Prime, it might be free with that.

This reminds me of the magnum opus of a fine poet...

Dark and lonely on a summer's night.
Kill my landlord. Kill my landlord.
Watchdog barking. Do he bite?
Kill my landlord. Kill my landlord.

Slip in his window. Break his neck.
Then his house I start to wreck.
Got no reason. What the heck?
Kill my landlord. Kill my landlord.

C-I-L-L my land lord!
