🥵 Our turn for the heat wave ☀️

92°F yesterday, 97°F right now, and it looks like we're going to be in the 90s for a week. The only good thing is the humidity isn't too bad right now, although it's expected to get worse.

🍺🥤🍹 Whew.

I believe the heat dome is going to head to the northeast, too.

reply

It looks like this is creeping across the northern part of the U.S. Too early for this. It's only the first week of June; this is more like August.

I'll be glad when fall begins.

reply

Early heat wave here in Reno. Several days in a row in the upper 90s. Should break Sunday or Monday.

reply

We could hit triple digits tomorrow. 🤦‍♀️ Stay tuned.

reply

Are there any counties in the U.S. that have mild summers ?
What about states ?

reply

Recently, I had a heat stroke while climbing the hill. Fortunately, my wife was climbing with me and helped me to recover. No kidding!

Stay safe, guys.

reply

Yikes! Glad you're okay. I've learned to take it easy when the heat/humidity go crazy. It's not worth the risk to try and accomplish anything strenuous when it's like this.

reply

Hot, cold, hot, cold mixed with a lot of rain. At least the colder weather and rain slows down the cicadas.

reply

We had some weird weather like that late last month. 88°F for a high on Monday, and by Thursday the high was only 47°F. We even had frost warnings for a couple of nights. Crazy.

reply

Well, we're having a hot spell here, though it's gonna briefly cool in a few days, stay that way for a week, and then get hot again. I live far enough inland that the summer temps are higher than out by the ocean. Thank goodness for AC.

reply

We are in that now as well

reply

This is getting really old. It's worse now because the humidity has arrived. We may see some relief by the weekend as the humidity drops and temps slide to the high 80s. Yes, we get 90s during the summer but never this early - usually late July or during August. 🥵

reply

I'm already counting down the weeks until the beginning of fall.

reply

Right now I need to get through the next couple of days (no AC).

reply

I feel sorry for you. Is there any way you could have A.C. installed? I know it's extremely expensive.

reply

I live in a 95-year-old house without central heat, which makes it even more expensive. Long hot spells likes this one are a bit out of the ordinary. Sure, we get 90+ degree days, but it's unusual for them to last more than 2-3 days at a time. If this is going to be more common, I'll have to figure something out.

reply

The climate from the southern latitudes appears to be slowly creeping northward. Not a good thing.

reply

Going on record here.

Minnesota is the worst state to live in, and I don't know why I love it as much as I do.

Mind-numbing cold for 8 months, and then sweat-inducing hot for the other 4.

It's the ******* humidity. Like walking out of the door directly into a sauna. Saying the humidity isn't "too bad" is just relative.

reply

I've lived here in MN for most of my life, and it's very true, winters can be very cold, but I'll say they're not as cold as they used to be. Each of the top ten warmest and wettest years on record have all occurred since 1998. - https://climate.state.mn.us/minnesota-getting-warmer-and-wetter and also - https://www.dnr.state.mn.us/climate/climate_change_info/climate-trends.html

I'll never call it the worst state to live in, but one does have to get used to our changeable weather. I like to say that our long, cold winters keep the riff-raff out. 😉

Hot, muggy summers aren't the greatest, either. All those dang pesky mosquitos...😖😠 Though, we have our really great days, too!

reply

Maybe that cop put his knee on George Floyd 's neck because he was angry with the weather !
