*->Movies Leaving HBO on 28 February 2021

Sunday is your last day to see these. some may move from the HBO cable channel to the HBO-Max streaming service. Some may move to the premium cable Cinemax channel. There does not seem to be a way of knowing which films will do either.

I've seen at least 20 of these films. Some are pretty good.

Most of these won't be missed.

The mustang was a good watch, recently rewatched The Assassination of JJ. I've been wanting new movies on HBO for sometime, hardly watch anything on there.

reply

The best thing about "The Mustang" was the horses. The story was depressing as hell.

reply

Last chance to catch Innerspace for those who haven't!

reply

martin short use to be my favorite

I normally want to watch something that I have never seen, (to avoid Brain Rot.) But there was mostly junk that I'd never seen.

So I re-watched Innerspace (1987), which I had only seen once, several decades ago. It was the only film directed by Joe Dante that won an Oscar, for Visual Effects, (which are still excellent). The good-guy scientist running through the mall in the beginning died in real life on 9 Feb 2021, age 80. He was a career cinematographer, and this was his only real acting role. Dennis Quaid and Meg Ryan married a few years later, which lasted 10 years. Martin Short's performance sold this fun film. He will be 71 in less than a month. The main cast look so young in this!

Any list of what new is coming?

reply

I think that HBO is concentrating more on adding content to HBO-Max, its streaming service. They have added almost nothing to their cable channel:

HBO Theatrical Premieres
March 6 at 8 pm: Rocky, Rocky II, Rocky III, Rocky IV, Rocky V, and Rocky Balboa
March 13 at 8 pm: Speed
March 20 at 8 pm: Beverly Hills Cop, Beverly Hills Cop II, and Beverly Hills Cop III

reply

LAST DAY to see the above HBO titles (unless they stay on HBO-Max or move to Cinemax.)

Doctor Sleep (Director’s Cut) is 28 minutes longer than the 2 hours 30 minute original. I have not seen either.

Also, Leaving HBO's cable channel before the end of March 2021:

Leaving March 1
Shazam!

Leaving March 13
The Curse of La Llorona

Leaving March 22
Pokemon Detective Pikachu

reply

What a shitty list! I can see why they're being removed!
