24 years behind bars. In Australia, unless you pose a risk for repeat offending (like a serial killer or serial rapist), you won't do more than 20 years.
Yet these two will never be released. No possibility of parole. Both are married. Both are in their 50s now.
Shouldn't there be a day where they stop being punished for something they did 30 years ago?
I haven't researched this case but am aware of it, like most Americans of a certain age. If I did research it and believed them to be guilty beyond a reasonable doubt, I'd be glad(happy) they will be behind bars for the rest of their lives.
