When I was in HS I knew a guy who was dating a 15-16 year old sophmore when he was out of high school for a year or two. He was like 20 I think.
He kind of reminded me of the Matthew McConeghy character in Dazed and Confused, hanging on to his high school lifestyle.
The maturity levels are too far apart. There is a whole new growth process once a kid is out of the home and into college or the military. Don't currently know about other states but in NY this relationship is laying the foundation for a statutory rape sentence. Your friend needs to be made aware of this.

shareIn my experience, if someone older is dating a child/adolescent, it usually suggests their emotional maturity levels are about the same. If this isn't a fabricated scenario to get attention from strangers on a movie forum, tell your friend to get some help.

She could look like she is 17 physically but it is his responsibility to know these things before any relationship gets started. If he is doing this just for the thrill of being with a 13 year old then maybe he needs to spend some time behind bars.

And agreed with himself as well. Making it doubly suspicious? I guess? Unless he was the friend and got locked up for something since then.
Of course, I don't think it's illegal if they're just dating. But if they're having intercourse, that's a different matter.
Not that it's a great idea even without the intercourse.
Just a bad idea all the way around. Not to keep harping on statutory rape but the standards are pretty minimal from what I understand. Many a guy has gone to prison by the angry dad and emotional mom of the girl in court. We don't need to push the boundaries of all social conduct. Some modification could be stood for like a consenting 17 year old with an 18 year old but we don't need 13 year old girls with guys in their twenties. 13 years old should still be a time for innocence whether it be a girl or boy. We encourage such kids to be fully adult when there should still be some room to be a kid.
