Trivia: What Australian Band or Artist has the most Top Ten Hits on The US Billboard Hot 100?

reply

Men at Work were massive for a while in the early 80s, likewise INXS in the late 80s. Do the Bee Gees count as Australian or British? If Australian, I’ll go with them, if not, I’ll go for Olivia Newton-John.

I had to think about it. They were born in The Isle of Man and moved to Australia in 1958. But they are best known as Australian, it's true and they are the clear winners. I should have crated my question better, I was thinking of Helen Reddy, with six US top ten hits.

reply

I just had a quick Google and INXS had seven US Top 10s.

reply

And Olivia Newton-John more. I'm sure I had a question with Helen Reddy at the top that is a stumpier,,,

reply

I’ll do some digging and see if I can come up with anything.

reply

Maybe most consecutive No. 1's on the Adult Contemporary Chart (6). Olivia Newton had more, but not consecutive. If that is what memory serves, that seems too obscure. For now, I hang my head.

reply

It’s all good. I love pop trivia.

Make a guess on Stonekeeper's it's there for the taking

Probably his best song: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Zi_XLOBDo_Y&list=RDZi_XLOBDo_Y&start_radio=1

I grunt a guffaw to the people on this board who don't like 80s music!

reply

Indeed. Michael Jackson was the 1980s and easily dominated the music scene.

One of my favorites, but it is from 2000. Hit No. 14 on The Billboard Hot 100 and No. 1 on Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs. Not sure when the video was made, which substitutes "Villain" for the "N" word.
