would you ever live in a trailer

There are trailer parks here in Toronto for year round living. I don't know how they stay warm on a night like tonight.

Trailers do have heating systems, and if anything, a trailer is easier to heat because it's a small space, doesn't take much to warm it up.

I wouldn't like to live in a trailer though. It's just too small. Although there's something to be said for the mobility of it. It's kind of cool to be able to take your house with you wherever you go lol.

You can move it but what would be the point? The freedom is illusionary. Unless you own the land to place it on having a trailer is a financial trap. Lot rents and associated costs such as utilities are meant to keep the hamster (tenant) on the financial wheel in favor of the trailer park owner. Nothing to aspire towards doing IMO.

I would if it was like Jim Rockford of Rockford Files. He lived in a trailer next to the beach.

Rockford's was quite comfy!
I am wondering if the people here are talking about Campers or Mobile Homes. My husband and I bought and lived in a two bedroom Mobile Home in a Park for 15 years of our marriage. It was a perfectly comfortable home with furnace, hot water heater and all of the comforts of a regular house. Being that we owned it, we only paid a lot rent. That afforded us the ability to save for a house in town. While I would never want to go back to living in a park, I had no problem with a Mobile Home. The only difference is that like a car, it must be registered with the Motor Vehicle Dept. Unlike a house, the Mobile Home depreciates in value, like a car.
Look at the thousands of videos on YouTube.... not only about Mobile Homes. Check out the large numbers of people who are now living in Tiny Houses! Incredible! I wouldn't want to live in such a small space unless I was single, but I take my hat off to these people who make it work. There is a philosophy in this movement. It is doing without so many material things. Many young people don't care to live with a mortgage over their heads..... just a roof.

On a similar note, one of my uncles used to live on a houseboat in Florida. I thought that was a great situation. The kitchen, bath and living areas were spacious and very comfortable, and the entire roof was an outdoor deck. He and my aunt would occasionally move around to different harbors when they got tired of the view (or the neighbors!)

I lived in a tent in the middle of winter... someone lent me a badass fleece sleeping bag, I sweat in it a lot.

As someone else said it is better than living on the street. I might prefer it over an apartment building as fewer neighbors means more harmony.

I would. I was actually considering on moving into one a few weeks ago. At least I could have a place of my own. For whatever reason, trailers usually have a bad stigma linked to them. I think it all depends on the trailer park area in general. There are nice ones and bad ones. And by the way, trailers do have heaters...just so ya know. Lol
