Star Wars is F***ing dead!

reply

oh, thank goodness.

reply

So you don't like SW ?

reply

nah, never did.

reply

Same here. I saw the first one in 1977 and haven't seen one since.

reply

well, I had to suffer through much of it, cause of the kids.
LOTR too. I would sleep in the theater.

reply

I made sure my son never got into SW. My wife forced me to see LOTR.

reply

I feel your pain.

reply

Uhm, if you could add a half dozen more repetitive emojis here for emphasis, I just might be able to empathize.

reply

Weren't you warned recently about attacking board members for ABSOLUTELY NO CAUSE?

reply

How do you know that? Not that I disagree, if it's true.

Db, WTH?? It wasn't bad enough that you derailed Dazed's Dewey thread with this?!

reply

Little secret...I saw some deletes...and guessed😁 so maybe no warning...but it calmed the situation. Just remember...I did not lie...I guessedπŸ˜‰πŸ‘

reply

You're a smartypants detective, you are!

reply

I'm a regular mcgruff the crime dog! Is that before your time?

reply

In protest I'm going to not watch Solo again.

On the plus side...

I'll save time - Not playing the games (thanks EA)
I'll save money - Games, merchandise and movies
I'll save my dignity

reply

All unfortunate truths!

reply

Let her have it. Star Wars is just Barbie for men anyway.

reply

I still haven't made it through the most recent one. IMO Star Wars has run its course anyway. The Empire Strikes Back was great. I lost interest after that.

But if you love it, and to any other fans of the franchise, my sympathies.

reply

You've missed nothing! Truthfully...I should have given up on it years ago. Things like this become part of how you self identify. But it has changed so drastically....that I really don't recognize it anymore. I had to get used to no more starwars...then I had together to the idea of star wars outlasting me...now I wonder if star wars will be around when my nephew graduates high school in eleven years. I hate wasted opportunity...and this was four billion dollars worth of just that! Disney needed to take their time and develop story's suitable for the franchise they purchased. Instead they opted to buy it in 2012...and set a date for a 2015 release...with NO SCRIPT? NO SET STORY ARCH? NO PLAN to speak of other than huge receipts. While a lot of people complain about agendas...sexism or race differences...my complaint has been a lack of preparation. Anyway...that was therapeutic😁

reply

I think I'm going to give the last one a second chance, just to see it, but will keep my expectations very, very low πŸ˜„

At the rate it's going, SW is going to outlast us all. Probably your nephew too! *scary thought*

4 billion? Dayum, that's a lot of bank. Has Disney done anything good over the past decade? Them buying it was the kiss of death anyway. Even though as far as I'm concerned it breathed its last breath with Empire.

reply

We'll see. Episode nine might pull it out of the dumper...but the long term plan seems sketchy.

Most would say their acquiring marvel was a huge win. The comic book stuff isn't my thing...but it does seem that it's been developed well and that fans have been generally pleased.

Empire was truly the last GREAT flick...should have bailed after Jedi failed to impressπŸ‘Ž

reply

The first two were great. As soon as the Ewoks appeared, I was done!

reply

Hey you! Heard you were having some tech difficulties over at FB...Glad to see youhere!πŸ‘

reply

NZer! Great to see you over here in "little old lady land"! And I couldn't agree more about the Ewoks.

😎

reply

Listen, the original trilogy are the only movies you should care about anyway. Down the toilet with the rest!

reply

Yeah pretty much...but I will say...although the prequels weren't as good as the original...there was fun to be had. Might have been that I was young...newly in love...and had star wars after a long dry spell...but it was fun! This is not...it's like work...and if I'm to work...I must be paidπŸ˜‚

reply

I will never be letdown by Star Wars.

reply

I saw Phantom Menace in theater, but after that had no interest in seeing the other movies. Jar-Jar alone was enough reason for that.

reply

It went on life support in 1983 during the last half of "Return of the Jedi" imho. Teddy Bears defeating Imperial Storm Troopers with sticks, stones and spears?? Give me a friggin break here!! Ever since then it has been slowly dying.
