Wacky fictional murder methods 😱

Murder by chandelier - victim wakes up with his arms and legs chained to the four bedposts. Murderer cuts a rope that releases the chandelier which falls on the victim, piercing him with its bottom finial.

What are some other memorable murder methods?

reply

I assume in fiction?

Death by garage doggy door.

reply

Sorry, yes, I should have specified fictional methods. I'm watching Midsomer Murders and there are quite a few wacky ways to kill. I'll edit the thread title.

reply

Was that in one of the Scream movies?

reply

Yes, it was in the first.

reply

The Columbo one where the psychiatrist triggers his dogs to kill his friend by using the ringing of the telephone.

reply

Rosebud!

reply

Yes I had forgotten that. Good memory.

reply

I've always remembered that episode. But I used to think it was actually with Patrick McGoohan.

reply

I don't remember that episode. One of these days I'll have to re-watch Columbo. It's been a long time...

reply

It's not exactly wacky, it's incredibly diabolical.

reply

Great word - diabolical! Plenty of murder weapons are symbolic. A stabbing, but instead of a run-of-the-mill knife, the murderer uses an ancient sword.

reply

Gruesome, but a white hot poker through an eye socket.

reply

How about people being torn apart while alive in Romero's Living Dead movies? Yuck!

reply

Locked in a commercial freezer.

reply

Commercial Freezer? Horrible death! ☃
That reminds me of another Columbo episode where Ruth Gordon locks the husband of her late niece in an airtight walk in safe.
This was also used in one of my favorite episodes of the Alfred Hitchcock Hour. The Ordeal Of Mrs. Snow.

reply

A Thousand Ways to Die, the television series, revolved around this theme.

reply

Loved that series. Although the woman fishing/fish in the mouth one. Surely that's made up lmao 😆

reply

That show seemed to be a clever blend of those that seemed plausible and others that seriously strained credulity.

reply

Murder by mirror - victim is clobbered with an antique mirror, which is bad enough, but then the murder uses the frame with the remaining shards to slit the victim's throat.

reply

Nothing in the Dark Episode from The Twilight Zone where Robert Redford plays Mr Death.

reply

What's the method of murder?

reply

he just touches her gently. more of a natural death than a murder but she was fighting to the end.

reply

Got it.

Murder by candlestick in the chapel on a grand English estate, but the victim is found on a tour bus. How'd he get there?
