Most underrated movie ever?

Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom. Is it Raiders? No. Is it Last Crusade? Debatable. Is it a fun (albeit pretty fucked up and silly at times) piece of escapism? Absolutely.

The Neon Demon is another. People generally seem to loathe it. I wouldn't call it a fav though it entertained me and was unlike anything I've seen in quite a while.

Interstate 60 : Episodes of the road, not sure if its underrated but not many people have seen it.

The low budget scifi film Slipstream with Mark Hamill and Bill Paxton is actually pretty damn terrific, budget aside.

The Strangers (2008)

havent seen that thought it looked similar to vacancy

It's better than Vacancy. It has a true crime vibe to it that made it scary to me.

Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom was definitely NOT underrated. It was mediocre at best imho.

You're certainly not alone in that assessment. I just enjoy its tonally schizophrenic mix of sentiment, sadism and slapstick; it doesn't feel, at all, like the other entries in the series, and for that, I find it more than merely mediocre.

You are correct that it definitely doesn't feel like the others in the series.
