Crime/Mystery/Thriller TV Shows

The Killing (US remake) - The show collapsed for me after the 2nd season, had they wrapped up everything with the end of the 2nd season, it would have been tv at its finest. Still a very entertaining show.

The Night of - Watching this one right now, i am at the 5th episode and i will probably binge watch the whole thing tonight.

True Detective S1- one of the very best ive ever seen...atmosphere, dialogue, performances
A real chiller!

reply

Well i will just tell you this : The ending of the 1st season is not what you think (on the contrary), you should really watch the 2nd season you are missing out big time. 3rd and 4th season was just pure cash-grab only the first 2 seasons are based on the books.

Thanks
Nice to see you around btw:)

reply

Likewise and as always thanks for your recommendations!

have you read about david benatar?

reply

I have not
Who is he?

reply

I'm more a fan of oldfashioned whodunnit types. Poirot, Monk, Psych, Castle or even Murder She Wrote and Diagnosis Murder.

reply

I like those except Castle which I haven't seen.

reply

It's good. I'd say it stays strong until season 5. As for the last 8th season. Avoid at all costs!

reply

8th season? I stopped to watch it at season 2

reply

Tsk, season 3 and 4 were still very good.

reply

You should definitely watch The Killing then.

reply

No, those dreary Scandinavian shows are not for me. Also too political to my liking.

reply

Can't say about the Danish one but the American remake while it has the political implications they serve more as red herring for the mystery aspect of the show.

reply

I love watching reruns of Columbo whenever their airing.I also enjoyed Sherlock,Luther,Psych,The Mentalist,Monk and Castle,

reply

How could I have forgotten about Columbo!!!

reply

I was wondering why no one had mentioned it.It seemed like an obvious classic in this category.

reply

It really is. Maybe it slipped my mind because they're tv movies.
