Netanyahu and Biden Want War with Iran

I warned about this 6 months ago when they both tried to blame Iran for Oct. 7th with zero proof only to retract later. Israel is threatened by them and wants to start a war and drag us into it.

Israel attacked and destroyed an Iranian consulate which is supposed to be off limits. Israel is escalating war by attacking several countries including Iran, Syria, and Lebanon likely with American weapons. Iran has every right to retaliate against Israel's aggression. Netanyahu clearly wants an ongoing war since he knows once it's over, the Israeli people are going to give him a swift kick out of office.

And now Biden is threatening Iran. Another warmonger.

Between the Zionists (both Christian and Jewish) and the evangelical nationalists nutjobs, this country is heading in the wrong direction. There is a reason why the Founding Fathers wanted a separation of state and religion.

reply

They tried to start World War III in Ukraine and now they're using Israel. Our government is still Neo-Con even under the Democrats.

reply

We agree. There is profit to be made by the military–industrial complex. I just read that the $3 billion which we give to Israel is spent by them on American weapons. Furthermore, the U.S. sells billions in weapons to other countries which feed the war machine causing genocide, displacement, famine and poverty especially in poorer countries.

The real problem is the rich who own and run these weapons-related corporations. They own both political parties.

reply

And the Neo-Cons have been pushing for war with Iran since the 1970's. It's the Neo-Con's jewel in the crown, so to speak. They couldn't even capture Iraq and make it a stable ally of the U.S. Iran is three times as large.

It's just endless war and the arms manufacturers are making huge profits.

reply

Again, we agree. Europe and U.S. have a colonialist mindset. They want to control non-Western countries and their assets like oil. Britain and the U.S. overthrew the democratically-elected Iranian Prime Minister and installed the puppet shah which eventually lead to his overthrow and a theocratic state under Khomeini. U.S. and the Brits created the Iranian problem.

Iraq war was supposed to be the first of many to control Middle East oil by replacing mercurial dictators with puppets. Iraqi oil we'd control was supposed to pay for the war, but it didn't work out that way. Oops, they fought back!

The U.S. Empire is in decline. Perhaps China as the eventual new world leader will be less destructive?

reply

Afghanistan as well. The U.S. overthrew a secular government which had women in government, no goddamn burkas and no child sex trafficking, and they installed the Taliban. The U.S. is always on the wrong side and we always lose.

No, we can still beat China by bringing our money home and investing in America. Why are we throwing billions away in weapons for wars we always lose?

I'm #1 for America. But stop this Neo-Con imperialism and meddling where we don't belong.

reply

Repeatedly, we takeover wars that others start like Afghanistan, Vietnam, and Palestine/Israel.

USSR started the war with Afghanistan by overthrowing their leader and replacing him with an unwanted communist which eventually set-off years of terrorism by jihadists. We supported the Afghans to oppose them. I'll blame the commies on this one. Civil war was inevitable.

The economy is global. U.S. can't compete if money and investing remains only in U.S.. For instance, the EV cars are the future, but China's car companies have strong sales and have future deals with the European markets. Also, China is smart by investing in African infrastructure which will help create a thriving middle-class who in return will do business with China. China knows that wars are bad for business and the economy. Notice they're not warmongering around the globe like the U.S. - just investing.

What's your opinion on Taiwan, Keelai?

reply

No opinion at this time. What's your's?

I found this:

"Though it was a founding member of United Nations, the ROC now has neither official membership nor observer status in the organization."

"the United States moved to recognize the People’s Republic of China (PRC) and de-recognize the Republic of China (ROC) in 1979, the United States stated that the government of the People’s Republic of China was “the sole legal Government of China.” Sole, meaning the PRC was and is the only China, with no consideration of the ROC as a separate sovereign entity."

"While President Richard Nixon’s private notes show him willing to recognize the status of Taiwan as determined and part of China, subsequent U.S. documents and statements show the United States as having no position on the Taiwan sovereignty question."

"After the Jimmy Carter administration recognized the PRC, Congress passed the Taiwan Relations Act in 1979 to protect the significant U.S. security and commercial interest in Taiwan."

reply

Taiwan is an independent state in all but name and should remain so as that is what its people want.

reply

There is a certain subset of the ruling class in Europe and the U.S. that have that mindset. Not necessarily colonialist, but, shall we say, usurious? The ranks of the neo-cons are infested with them.

reply

>The U.S. Empire is in decline. Perhaps China as the eventual new world leader will be less destructive?

Based on fucking what?

China is a totalitarian one-party state. You're half-right in that they don't care about dictatorships, but a withdrawn USA would just lead to malevolent regional powers being unchecked.

reply

No Empire lasts forever. U.S. is in economic decline.

"a withdrawn USA would just lead to malevolent regional powers being unchecked."

Absolutely! I wish you would emphasis that to the America First isolationists who want to withdraw from the world.

reply

>Absolutely! I wish you would emphasis that to the America First isolationists who want to withdraw from the world.

But it sounds like YOU want that to happen as well

reply

I'm 100% for military support to Ukraine.

Israel is a European settler colonialist project stealing land and committing genocide and ethnic-cleansing against the native Palestinian inhabitants. Although I sympathize with Jews who faced centuries of European anti-Semitism, the solution isn't to steal land and commit genocide against people who had nothing to do with their suffering nor a present racist policy which benefits one specific religious group while discriminating against all others using apartheid, illegal occupation, settlements and blockades, war crimes, collective punishment and ethnic-cleansing.

reply

I am speaking specifically about your: "The U.S. Empire is in decline. Perhaps China as the eventual new world leader will be less destructive?"

What do you think happens to Ukraine with China as the primary power?

reply

U.S. has just started an umpteenth war - this time with Iran. How many wars are the U.S. involved in presently? I lost count. Meanwhile, China is involved in none. So yes, China is less destructive.

BTW, China, along with most of the world, supports a Palestinian state. U.S. supports continued genocide and ethnic-cleansing in Israel's ongoing settler colonialism project because nut job Christians believe in End Times prophecy.

U.S. vs China economy. That's not my prediction. It has been a prediction for years from economists worldwide. If Trump is elected, it'll happen much quicker since he'll screw-up the economy again as well as support Russia against Ukraine likely leading to WW3 after he pulls us out of NATO.

reply

And what do you think China would do to help Ukraine?

What would happen to Taiwan? How would East Asia change? What would happen with their border disputes with India?

reply

If Trump is elected, his ally Putin becomes stronger with his help and defeats Ukraine before invading the rest of Europe likely starting WW3.

Putin’s ally is China, therefore China becomes stronger and does whatever it wants without interference from West embroiled in WW3.

Trump wants a weak U.S.. He said he wants a recession and is against national security since he told his MAGA congressmen to vote against it.

Those who don't learn from history are condemned to repeat it:

"Strongmen: Mussolini to the Present
Book by Ruth Ben-Ghiat

Excellent book. Putin and Trump behavior is predictable once you know history. It doesn't end well for most of us regular folks. Historically, it never does.

reply

>If Trump is elected, his ally Putin becomes stronger with his help and defeats Ukraine before invading the rest of Europe likely starting WW3.

I didn't ask you about Trump. What would happen to Taiwan? How would East Asia change? What would happen with their border disputes with India?

>Putin’s ally is China, therefore China becomes stronger and does whatever it wants without interference from West embroiled in WW3.

So presumably you would argue this is bad, right? A China with no international opposition.

reply

What do you think would happen?

reply

China would annex Taiwan. North Korea would be emboldened, a lot of pressure would suddenly exist on South Korea. They have a lot of border disputes in the South China sea with Japan and the Philippines.

Fuck knows how their issues with India would develop.

reply

Very old news.

They have been wanting a war with Iran for years.

You voted for it. You should have voted for Trump.

reply

Seems Iran is relpying without killing people for now.
They just captured an israeli cargo ship.

reply

It would be best if America took ownership and let Israel ride this out unharmed. Send farmboys to handle this. America is a very rich country and can invade and conquer Iran in a few days!

reply

"Let's you and him fight!" Hmm, from what quarter have we heard that before?

reply

Why not let Israel fight its own battles since they repeatedly start trouble in the region?

reply

America will go face first in a confrontation with Iran in hopes of protecting Israel. Iran backed by Russia & China will send us down a long and costly path of war.

reply

And yet, when I suggested the GAE be dissolved and Americans pull back to their own shores, you engaged in some childish rant about me wanting Russia and China to rule the world. You can't have it both ways, sweetie.

For the record, one of the better things Trump did during his 4 years was to avoid involving the U.S. in foreign conflicts.

Most Americans want to die for Israel , die for the Jew, do you?

reply

It's not about dying for Jews.

It's about millions of American evangelical Christians' prophecy that Israel must be created and supported in order for all Jews to return there to create conditions for Jesus to return. Second Coming of Jesus will arrive after global warfare and most will die and go to Hell except evangelicals and the few Jews who convert to Christianity. Jerusalem is supposed to become 100% Christian.

This nonsense is driving U S. foreign policy which is the reason a separation between state and religion is needed.

reply

"Between the Zionists (both Christian and Jewish) and the evangelical nationalists nutjobs, this country is heading in the wrong direction. There is a reason why the Founding Fathers wanted a separation of state and religion."

You are making the mistake of assuming that people in high levels of government, whether elected or unelected, are actually motivated by fundamentalist religious fervor in their policy goals. Do you also think George W. Bush was actually "born-again Christian?"

Biden needs to sweep up some of these evangelical nationalist nutjobs to be his voters even though they may vote Republican down-ballot, and this is the perfect moment to do so considering the way his opponent has run his courtroom "campaign." GOP or not, evangelicals are not wicked people and are likely a little skittish about the porn-star hush money leader. The ordinary voter in some of the most important swing states in the nation is essentially Ned Flanders and his family. Normally, they wouldn't be necessary to court, but Trump helps bring out the "degenerate ingrate" like no other, and these folks are typically non-voters.

You are well-read and make some thoughtful posts—but as are most Americans, what you are doing is essentially talking about the stories the media tells you to talk about. I mean, Ukraine, Israel, Iran? People die every day. Shit happens everywhere. You didn't even know about the non-European slave trade in Timbuktu, Mali until I told you, and thought Africa was a civilized place cuz that's what "wokeness" tells you. Well, guess what? Presidents and their teams DO know these things, and they help set the narrative. They WANT our focus to be Ukraine and Israel above all else. If some other story was more important to their legacy and constituency, then it would be favored in the coverage and you would make 32,000 posts on an obscure forum reflecting on that instead.

The older you get, the more you realize that you can't take election year events so seriously. Don't be so naive. Just vote Biden and support his strategy for reelection since he's the only serious candidate and his major-party opponent is a confirmed authoritarian.

reply

The destruction of Roe vs Wade is clearly fundamentalist Christanity influence.

Most "Christians" clearly don't practice what they preach.

Biden is targeting Zionist Christians in swing states. The more extremist ones will continue to support their Lord and Savior, Trump.

Of course, I knew about non-European slavery! But, the race-based Atlantic Slave Trade was especially brutal and deprived its victims of ALL basic human rights unlike other forms of slavery. Of course, Africa had civilizations, Empires, and kingdoms. But, right now I'm reading about Palestinian history, therefore that will be my focus and likely topics for discussion.

Israel is the last remaining European settler colonist project which is still ongoing. Furthermore, it's supported with U.S. tax dollars. If it ends through protests and pressure, then I'm in favor.

I have started many different topics. Realistically, the ones which will receive responses will be the ones that other MCers are familiar with and are likely in the news. There are many foreign MCers, but they rarely discuss their country's politics for the same reason. Personally, I would find that interesting, but apparently I'm in the minority.

We both agree that Biden is the better and sane choice for president.
