The whole world deserves reparations from China.

If China dumped American treasuries, our economy would collapse. Be nice! Without them, Trump wouldn't be able to continue his bankruptcy of the U.S. with his unending spending. A trillion here, a trillion there!

reply

Horseshit. If the US cut off all trade with China their economy would collapse. China is way more dependent on the US, at least in the fundamental economic relationship. But we do need to move critical supply lines (like antibiotics) out of China ASAP.

I've argued for years that we shouldn't be trading with China at all as long as it's ruled by a communist regime. Hopefully the takeaway from this global tragedy is clarification for people that China is our biggest enemy, not our friend. The nation should act accordingly going forward.

PS - A liberal Democrat and Obama supporter trying to attack Trump for "spending", particularly spending that Democrats unanimously voted for, is too stupid to merit a response.

The farmers who lost their Chinese customers because of Trump's trade war disagree.

reply

T-rumpers don't care about American farmers. They've really proved that over the past few years. I hope the farmers don't forget in November.

reply

You ain't foolin' anyone. You don't care about anything but your hate for Trump. It's hilarious really.

reply

Prove to me where 'I hate T-rump'. Every T-rumper here uses that phrase so loosely, and not one of you can back it up when I ask. As usual.

reply

You mean the ones giving Trump a record high approval rating after he successfully secured a better agricultural trade deal?

Plenty of people in India and other countries need to eat. Improved trade deals there could pick up the slack if we stopped trading with China.

reply

Same deal. Different name. Big whoop!
Farmers still suffering.

reply

The farmers disagree.

This is the price we pay for having an airline system. If you don't want to share responsibility, then you must end all flights to China forever. And if you don't want something else coming in from Africa or Europe, you must end all flights from there as well.

But the only measures repubs will harp on is limiting people from Mexico... because they vote democrat.

reply

What nonsense! There were pandemics long before there were planes.

Science and knowledge prevents pandemics. Notice how South Korea didn't need to shutdown their country to contain it. Closing the pandemic agency and defunding other health agencies was dumb. Not testing asap was another major misstep. It's just a hoax, anyway.

reply

Isn't it funny how T-rumptards never ever mention how South Korea has successfully handled this pandemic?

reply

It's a combination of both. We need the science and knowledge to counteract the pandemic so that airlines are not put in the position of being the function that spreads it.

However my response was being facetious. There's no way in hell anyone would consider shutting down the airlines to Europe or anywhere else. And because of that, there will always be a chance of something entering our country. So my point was that we can't blame one area for a pandemic when we have our airlines connecting us with the entire world. If you're going to blame that area, you should blame the airlines. No right-winger is blaming the airlines because they don't really care and are just looking for another reason to hate on China.

reply

Trump needs to blame China to take some of the heat off of his "it's a hoax" comment. Meanwhile, Chinese doctors and scientists have been working very closely with the U.S. and other countries to help contain this by sharing information.

China has also been sending Italy medical supplies after the other EU countries didn't.

Kek, these were all either mid-Feb to late Feb, before the huge outbreak in March. Tolerance/Ignorance/-phobia -> Human life

China is the world’s largest outbound travel market when measured by trips and expenditures. As of 2015, Chinese tourists took 4 billion domestic tourism journeys and 117 million outbound trips; outbound trips are expected to reach 160 million by 2020.

In 2017, Chinese outbound tourists took approximately 131 million trips. More than 70 percent of Chinese tourists travel with family and friends, and they exhibit the highest international spending per trip among global travelers. In addition, Chinese outbound tourism market expenditures are expected to grow by a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 5.4 percent, reaching more than $315 billion a year in 2020.

The number of outbound trips from China more than doubled from 2010 to 2015, growing at a CAGR of 15 percent.

Multiple factors have contributed to the continued strength of the Chinese outbound tourist market: higher income and more overseas experience, supported by access to travel information online and air connectivity and accessibility. In addition, as of early 2018, 66 countries and regions had altered their visa restrictions, making it much easier for Chinese outbound tourists to travel to these places.

Well, if you're small business, this is good for you but if ever a growing viral growth in China ever begins again, prepare for the worst.
