I like the Illumination movies, but I understand what you mean; some of their films seem to have the same formula and it feels like they don't take many risks. My personal favorite is the first Despicable Me, I thought all the sequels were only okay. I was concerned too that the toads were going to be too much like the Minions. Now that we have trailers and clips from the movie, I don't think that will be the case, and I'm hopeful they aren't going to put them front and center, and just have them in supporting roles (besides the main Toad). I can see that viewpoint judging from the trailer about them making Princess Peach more of a star then Mario. But I have a feeling that at some part of the film, she probably will get kidnapped or taken off screen, and we will see Mario as he learns to become a hero and save everyone. I like that Peach is getting more screentime, but I bet they are being misleading with the trailer and maybe she and Toad only guide Mario in the first half. I forgot they had that ghost of Billy Loomis in 5; yeah that was pretty silly. I saw the teaser trailer and am excited to see it! Like you said, I'm glad they are trying something different, at least with the location and characters. I wonder how it will play out, kind of reminds me of Friday the 13th Part 8: Jason Takes Manhattan. I don't really watch Scream for the blood factor (although they had some clever kills in past movies) so I'm curious to see how graphic this one will get. I don't know what is wrong with you APRIL-151-CT, but you have some nerve making fun of me, trying to get people to bully me, then post private messages between two people and try to slander me. Whether it was a misunderstanding or not, I would never do this to someone else, it's disgusting. I deleted my topic about the Terminator movies and sent you a few messages privately; if you felt I was being unfair or not wanting to receive anything from me, then you could have let the moderators know. Instead you decided to try and hurt me as much as possible. Also shame on some of the others in this topic for being nasty to me. Thank you to those who stuck up for me. I am going to take the high road. I am letting you know this is uncalled for and I have contacted the moderators. I am not going to read or reply to anything else on this topic. It is NOT okay to do this to another person. Wow, that's cool you were able to catch up! I'm sure it was fun revisiting them. It looks like your rankings are pretty similar to mine. I agree with what you said: I like when John's character is more front and center in the story. I think that's why 2 and 3 are so good, besides having great traps and a better story. The twists in 2 were awesome back then, and I remember watching it in the theater, and when they revealed the bathroom from Saw 1 Iremember everyone in the theater went crazy. I know what you mean about Saw 3; I liked Jeff's character a lot and its definitely one of the better stories. Saw 4 is tough for me because on one hand I thought it had one of the greatest twists in all the movies (the time twist, which I never saw coming). It also had traps i thought were really good like the see no evil, speak no evil trap, but then it has ones I thought were crappy like the child abuser guy in the hotel (the trap just seemed kinda lame). While some scenes were really interesting like the autopsy and John's past, I really hated how they edited the film, with the cutaways or whatever it's called. I'm curious what you thought of this, but for me Saw 5's side story with the characters stuck in the sewer line / bunker thing were easily my least favorite group out of any movie. They just weren't interesting at all, and I thought almost all of their traps weren't good. The only traps I thought were cool were the other ones; the water box and the glass coffin. I still think 5 is okay, just slower paced, but it is not my favorite. Thanks for sharing your thoughts I enjoyed reading them. Also sorry if my text on here is squished, I'm still kind of new to posting here and I'm not sure how to fix this. It's been a long time but I think the manga (Japanese comic) of Akira that the movie is based on answers more of the details and explores some of the story further. That's what I recall from reading it back then anyway. It's funny, the first time I saw Mullholand Drive I actually disliked it. I was coming off of Twin Peaks and I thought the story would be a little easier to follow like that TV show. Years later I finally rewatched Mulholland Drive and I actually enjoyed it way more. It is difficult to understand like some of his other stuff, but I think a lot of it is open to interpretation. I personally love that dream like quality of the film, but I also get it's not for everyone. That's really cool, I've been trying to watch movies I've never seen before that came out awhile ago. What did you think of Akira and Mullholand Drive? I love Japanese anime but haven't seen Akira in many years. I need to watch it again to see what I think! I enjoy David Lynch stuff and Mullholand Drive is one of my favorites from him. The diner scene is one of the scariest moments I've ever watched in a movie. If you enjoyed this film check out Lost Highway, I like it just as much as Muholland Drive! I consider myself a decent driver, and honestly the hardest part about driving in those conditions is the people around you. There is a lot of snow and blizzards where I live in winter time, and once in awhile you'll have people trying to tailgate you and drive erratically. One time there was a driver ahead of me who wanted to rush past the other car in front of them, in a blizzard with black ice everywhere. The person sped past that other car, then immediately skidded off to the side and landed in a snow bank. Thankfully most people seem to have common sense when driving in bad weather, but I've seen crazy stuff. Hello! Welcome to the forum! I am fairly new still but Moviechat has a nice forum here and everyone is really friendly. I'm not sure if I could convince you or if you are even right or wrong. I eat meat, but I've known both men and women who were very healthy and fit, who were meat eaters, vegetarians and vegans. I'm not sure if there is a perfect diet. I understand some people take up that lifestyle because they are against the abuse of farm animals. I do admire that and I wish I could say I was that strong to control my appetite, but I love the taste of meat and for me it's hard to give that up. I'm planning on watching every Saw movie next year (I'll probably do one a day or so), right before Saw 10 comes out. It would be cool to hear your thoughts on the rest of the movies and see how you feel before next Halloween! I go back and fourth if I like 2 better than 6, or the other way around. I definitely rate both of them higher. With 6, I think the pacing is really good; 4 felt really rushed in some parts, while 5 was a little too slow. 6 seemed to find a good spot. Yeah 3 is great. I agree, I really like most of the traps in 3, they were memorable! Yeah 6 for me was a big step up from 5. I didn't actually hate 5 other then a few big issues, but I thought 6 brought back a more quality film. For me 2 and 3 are up there as my favorites. Once I saw the directors cut of 3 (or whichever the longer version was), 3 went up to my second favorite. I really think the extra scenes make that movie better. This will be fun! I've gone back and fourth on some of them over the years. I've watched all the movies many times, with the exception of Saw 3D / 7 and Spiral; I've only seen both of them twice. Here is my present list from the best to worst: 1. Saw 2. Saw 3 3. Saw 6 4. Saw 2 5. Saw 4 6. Jigsaw 7. Saw 5 8. Saw 3D / 7 9. Spiral Saw 1 for me is still number 1; I just love the bathroom puzzle, the more simple storyline and the end twist was incredible for me. Lowest is Spiral right now. As much as I didn't like 3D / 7, I think it still edges it out a little. You know I was just thinking about this the other day on a whim. I have no clue who they were suppose to be (I'd have to watch the episode again). They aren't from the comics from what I remember, and the story for them in the TV show seemed to go no where. That's a great question. From what I remember, in the comic version Eguene never goes over to Negans side or helps them in any way. I think for the show version, Eugene is more conflicted especially after the death of Abraham since he was very close to him and Rosita. I won't spoil anything for you, but I think your question will get answered in this season or next later on. I hope you enjoy the rest! Overall I love the Walking Dead TV show and comics. Those are classics! I like all of those too, especially the chocolate and vanilla soft serve cones. Thanks everyone for your ice cream flavors, I'll have to try some of these that I haven't yet! Yeah it will definitely be interesting to see what happens. The only thing I'm wondering though is even if this is a box office hit, if Tobin Bell would do more, since he is getting a lot older. Also: ***POSSIBLE SPOILERS*** He has been dead since movie 3 and 4, so they have made so many stories now that take place after his death, but him still contributing in some way. I think what they've done in most of the sequels is decent for storytelling while working around the fact they killed off Jigsaw so early. I get what your saying though, you can only do this for so long and instead of going through the trouble of that, maybe just branch off and retell a version of the movies where he lived. I'm excited either way, I love seeing these movies at the theater and it's become a tradition! She should have just let you throw it away. If it was really overflowing or had no room at all while she was getting rid of it, she could have been nicer and told you politely if you could bring it to the other bin or maybe even offer to take it off your hands and she would dispose of it after she got rid of the rest. I hope you still enjoyed your stay there and had fun! If I had to pick one or the other, definitely Saw 7 or Jigsaw as I wasn't a huge fan of Spiral. But if it's true about it being a prequel to other films set between the earlier movies, that sounds cool too. I would love a movie more focused on Tobin Bell even if it takes place in the past. I'm not sure how I'd feel if they wanted to rewrite the later sequels and pretend they didn't exist. I don't think they'd go this route. I personally enjoy the whole story of the Saw movies, and I think it's one of the few film series with a ton of movies where the story and details hold up decent throughout all the movies.
