I think they wanted a character who's above most. Like in intelligence, social status, self confidence, etc. By dropping her age it emphasized those traits even more, maybe. Just put a little effort into it and you'll get what he meant. It's kind of like releasing entire seasons all at once. At first we were only used to one episode per week with conventional tv. Looks like they're adapting that strategy to movies with releasing an entire trilogy in only three weeks. Sitting on your sofa, opening Netflix and selecting a movie is quick and easy. It's not an happening anymore, like when movies where only in theaters and it build up the heat around it. That's gone now with instant access available at any time. I found that strange too at first but then I thought about the same thing as you. Maybe it's low season right now and they are experimenting. They create an immediate interest and beat the hell out of that iron while it's still hot. I felt the same as you. He didn't sound butthurt at all. You on the other hand, clearly are. It shows in your reply. Plus... don't post jokes. Being a comic is definitely not for you. It all comes down to personal tastes guys. Although I have to say I also think Face/Off is the better movie. Maybe not 5 times better... but at least 2 ! Talk for yourself. You guys need more political parties... you only have two options and you have to chose between two extremes who keep being more and more extreme. To me it seems like either way you guys are f*cked. I have a lot of respect too. I do like exploitation movies. I guess that with the techniques and technologies always evolving it makes film making more and more complex as time goes by. With that in mind, yes I guess you are right... it might have been easier (or more achievable) back then to do it inside a year. If it inspired someone it's James Patterson, who wrote the book (Zoo) that was published in 2012. Jaws was 1975, the year just before. Would they really have the time to watch Jaws, write their idea, submit it, hire the crew and actors, move on set, film it, edit it, and then release it.. all inside 12 months ? I'm not saying it's impossible but to me it seems like a stretch. Exactly. The last one I watched was the 6th, I think. The first movie was realistic for me and is still one of my favorite movies. There was already bad CGI stunts in the second. I think Tokyo Drift was alright (was a long time ago) but then they gradually pushed the envelop and it became nonsense. Oh there goes Rabbit, he choked. I'm solely talking about the picture. Never watched the show either. Just thought you have a weird perception of what's badass or cool looking. Badass? You think a criminal would shake in his boots seeing her? Come on man. She looks like a kid on Halloween. Just look at her. Her zero intensity gaze, her posture. Everything is off. Her clenched fists may give her a little determination vibe that could, at most, be interpreted as: "Nothing can stop me. Imma fill my bag full of candy tonight... and not even the rain will stop me !" That's the most serious, credible, and dangerous that she looks on there. I went with my parents when I was 8. I remember that I liked it. I mean, a girl like Superman, who flies like him, has special powers, etc, was all I needed to be impressed. It was such a long time ago but I know it was in the afternoon and there was some people in there with us. Now I'm curious... What would I think of it 37 years later ?? I'm almost scared to re-watch it, haha. Well then, either you or your statistics are full of troll crap, my virtuous friend. Lol. Good one. ;) You really are a troll. I think that's his point. He recognizes her talent and thinks she has so much more to offer than this. It's a bit like when Angelina Jolie made a big turn (Tomb Raider) in her career, leaving independent productions and dramatic roles for blockbusters and bigger pay checks. I don't blame them for going where the money is. At the same time I do understand what Dorff means.
