Good to see the spirit of Alan is alive and well It's fair to say that Miyagi had a sense of humour (dunking Daniel in the lake, showing Daniel how to sweep, "J.C. Penney, $3.98", "Now use head for something other than target") Child slave labour and stolen materials aside, Miyagi did have a pretty nice backyard. Daniel's paint job on the fence looked adequate Damn, I can't believe it. Even though he was Miyagi-Do, no one can deny his perseverance over the years. He was a pushy little bastard, but I liked that. Perhaps we could start a thread that tries to find the good in his heroes, Miyagi and Daniel. You still telegraphing that wheel kick? Because he was on the mat with Dynamite Mike Barnes, a man who strikes crippling fear into the hearts of his opponents. Barnes had already pulverized him several times by that point without even breaking a sweat, so when Danielle saw him fired up in the tournament fight, he knew it was hopeless. He knew there wasn't anything he had that Barnes couldn't counter. He knew that his illegal crane kicks and sucker punches would not work. He knew the crowd wasn't going to distract his opponent this time. The moment he saw Barnes giving him a death stare from across the ring, the bladder loosened. His only instinct was to curl up into the fetal position and cry uncontrollably into a puddle of his own urine. He took the time to fix Daniel's bike though. Grooming was obviously more of a priority I imagine Jessica's condescending "Why do you call him Mister?" line was an uncomfortable reminder for Daniel of the man-child that he is. She was also quick to get in on the humiliation of Daniel when Miyagi clowned on him with the broom sweeping. She really did play her role to perfection. That's no surprise though, she was recruited by Mr Terry Silver after all. Barnes was clearly looking to the officials, bewildered as to why the rules weren't being enforced. When he went to check on Daniel to see if he was hallucinating, he got caught out by a trademark LaRusso suckerpunch. And all this was after Daniel clearly verbally submitted. The corruption is plain to see. Thankfully Mr Terry Silver will be returning to finally deliver justice. Alan Alan Alan. Since you met me, I've made you do things you didn't want to do. WA: What are you talking about? Let's show him what I'm talking about. You're going to defend. You're getting in that ring. She's definitely lacking the three "D"s The rule change had to be made for Mr Terry Silver's plan to work. Daniel wouldn't have made it past the first round otherwise. There is no doubt he kept it all legal and above board though. When you bankroll an entire tournament, I'm sure the committee will happily consider your suggestion for a rule change. He did manage to muster 'Too bad' before going straight back to wasting his time with kata. He's still a good guy right? That's actually a very good point I've not considered before. Not that Daniel would have posed any threat even if he did train, it's that kind of meticulousness that made Mr Terry Silver so successful. I just rewatched this via a clip on YouTube and I forgot how brilliant Snake is in this scene. The sheer joy he takes in tormenting Daniel and the belly laughing at his pathetic threats are great to watch. We're also treated to a very satisfying moment when Snake rightfully puts Daniel in his place after he obnoxiously starts screaming 'EYY, PULL US UP'. Snake's idea of throwing the bonsai tree back down the cliff was hilarious but the branch snap and one-liner by Mike was truly exquisite. And it's been noted before how beautifully concise yet scathing the 'heavy wimp' line is. I'd highly recommend people to watch and savour this scene again. *eagerly awaits Cruisin to start trashing WA's dojo with devastating two-armed chops You mean to say you're not online 24/7 to provide immediate responses? That was such a weasel move. WA has less bravery the Daniel. That was beautiful. The world needs more men like Mr Terry Silver.
