Just like Daniel shrieking "I'm afraid, I want to go home, let's get out of here!"

Terry Silver would not approve of this... a champion should defend her title.

reply

She's definitely lacking the three "D"s

reply

She’s from Columbus… Ohio, Jessica’s hometown. Hope she watches season four of Cobra Kai and finds some inspiration.

Also take a look at this.

This guy clearly won using Quicksilver but was somehow disqualified?

WA must have called the Tokyo Olympic committee to complain.

Now Karate's future as an Olympic sport is in doubt... thanks a lot WA.

reply

WA must have called the Tokyo Olympic committee to complain.

So in between the time the kick was delivered and the decision was taken YOU believe I must have called the Olympic committee, got through to someone and influenced the decision?

DA PLANE BOSS, DA PLANE!

He knocked the guy unconscious by following through with his kick. Have a little check of the rules and you will find this is one of the things a person gets disqualified for. Sad for him seeing as he was leading the fight, but that's how it goes.

reply

So you can ummmm..... "win" a karate fight by getting knocked unconscious by a karate kick to the head?

That's... that's really your story that you're sticking to?

You're wiling to die on this hill and take the sport of karate down with you?

I'm sure you were watching this fight and had the Olympic committee on speed dial just waiting to give them a lecture.

reply

Check the rules

reply

Your what's wrong with karate today.

Any wonder why we saw those McDojo fighters shadow fighting with no contact? Because god forbid someone actually lands a hit in karate these days by following the quicksilver method... I guess if you do that WA will come riding on his horse with his "rule book" and try to get you disqualified.

reply

Your what's wrong with karate today.

So someone who doesn't give belts away and has created multiple champions in both Kata and Kumite at local, national and international level is what's wrong with Karate today?
You are definitely an idiot.

In my competing days you were allowed to hit the body (torso) as hard as you liked. I even broke a couple of opponents ribs and was awarded the win because they couldn't carry on. I'm all for harder contact, but guess what? I don't make the rules!
As for riding in on my horse, no, I have no influence over the referees decision. The referee will follow the rules and if the rules disbar certain techniques for their level of impact, or legality then that is nothing to do with me, that's the referees decision.

reply

You are a supporter of rules that have made karate a joke.

These rules that you refuse to challenge somehow called Iran beating Saudi Arabia and Daniel beating Barnes.... it's like the person who gets beat up the most wins.
Insanity.

reply

You are a supporter of rules that have made karate a joke.

I am a participant in Karate. If I want my students to compete I have to accept the rules of the competition. The same goes for Cobra Kai.

These rules that you refuse to challenge somehow called Iran beating Saudi Arabia and Daniel beating Barnes.... it's like the person who gets beat up the most wins.
Insanity.

Rules are challenged all the time. Changing them is another thing. Even the the Saudi fighter, while not agreeing with the decision, accepts it.

reply

If you made the rules in karate who would have been declared the winner..... Saudi Arabia or Iran?

reply

Da plane boss, da plane!

reply

You can't answer this question and have lost... in your inability to formulate a response you revert to your safe space.

If you made the rules in karate who would have been declared the winner..... Saudi Arabia or Iran?

reply

DA PLANE!!!!!!

reply

Poor sad little man WA....

If you made the rules in karate who would have been declared the winner..... Saudi Arabia or Iran?

I knew you couldn't withstand a sustained debate with me over 3 threads simultaneously. The mental energy proved too much for you... you have been beaten WA.

reply

YOU ARE ASKING AN IRRELEVANT QUESTION. I DON'T MAKE THE RULES THAT YOU ARE COMPLAINING ABOUT. IF YOU FEEL YOU HAVE A GENUINE COMPLAINT THEN CONTACT THE RELEVANT AUTHORITIES.
DA PLAAAANNNNNNE!!!!

reply

If you made the rules in karate who would have been declared the winner..... Saudi Arabia or Iran?

reply

IF I MADE THE RULES THEN THE FIGHT WOULD HAVE BEEN FOUGHT DIFFERENTLY WITH BOTH FIGHTERS WEARING HEADGUARDS (OLYMPIC RULES FOR FULL CONTACT) GOING FOR THE KNOCKOUT, SO IT IS HARD TO SAY HOW THAT PARTICULAR FIGHT WOULD HAVE GONE. IF EVERYTHING HAD GONE THE SAME WAY AS IT DID THOUGH UP UNTIL THAT POINT, THEN SAUDI ARABIA WOULD BE DECLARED THE WINNER UNDER MY RULES.

BUT, AND IT IS A BIG BUT, I DON'T MAKE THE RULES!

reply

Using caps to strengthen your argument. What are you, 12?

reply

Thought he/you couldn't read it with the letters being so small. Turns out he/you was/were wilfully ignorant as it happens.

reply

You dodged the question. If YOU were the judge of this exact fight and it ended the same way with the Iran fighter on his back in a catatonic state….. would you still declare him the victor?

reply

You dodged the question.

No, I answered the question. Read it again.

If YOU were the judge of this exact fight and it ended the same way with the Iran fighter on his back in a catatonic state…

Under the current rules I would have no choice other than to disqualify the Saudi fighter.

would you still do are him the victor?

What does this even mean?

reply

*would you still declare him the victor?

reply

Under the current rules I would have to.

reply

And if you were given the authority to throw the rule book out the window and declare the winner based on your own conviction?

reply

If my aunt had balls she would be my uncle

reply

I JUST GOT AN ERECTION.🙄

reply

REALLY?

reply

🍆💯

reply

Who is the Kowalski asshole... one of your students?

reply

He's a poster who you (as usual ) have disrespected for no reason whatsoever.

reply

The guy was on the floor for a ten count and would have been penalized. Daniel groveled on the ground for 30 seconds after the buzzer went off and Johnson did nothing.

reply

Oh, boo hoo!
Fuck off!

reply

It’s worth noting that proper tournament procedure was not followed. Daniel should have been counted out and disqualified, handing Barnes the victory and changing the course of history.
Every argument you’ve ever put forth has been thoroughly discredited and yet you hold on to your delusions.

reply

It’s worth noting that proper tournament procedure was not followed.

Glad you agree.
Thanks for clarifying what I've said all along. Barnes should have been disqualified long before the end of normal time.

Daniel should have been counted out and disqualified, handing Barnes the victory and changing the course of history.

Why? The match had ended and sudden death had not yet proceeded. If you are referring to Daniel holding up proceedings then you have to accept that Barnes did the same with his rant and swearing (should have been disqualified just for the swearing) at Daniel. Now you may call it a motivational speech, but it was neither asked for nor sanctioned.
Incidentally, the ten second count didn't come in until 1990 and the movie is set in 1985. Before then it was up to the referee how long within reason a fighter can remain on the ground. Admittedly in Daniels case a medic should have been called to look him over considering how long he was down. Another cock up by the competition organisers.

If you want to use the rules then you have to accept the rules for everything and not just the bits you want them to apply to.
