The only ''racist'' thing about the movie was perhaps painting Kathy Bates face a tan color to play an Inuit. The rest was just harmless stereotypes and cultural ignorance. Ebert was mentally ill. This film was nothing to get so childishly upset over as Ebert did. His review seemed more like an exaggerated tempter tantrum than critique of a mediocre family film. It was no different than a film like Camp Nowhere or Clifford - which all were released around the same time and of a similar style of film making that was meant to a appeal to ''children''. I think something more was going on with this, I think Roger had some type of feud with Rob and was really out to trash his movie. The movie was a riot to watch at first. I first saw the room online when I was 22 in 2012 and I couldn't contain myself. I don't think a single ''bad movie'' has ever made me laugh so hard or any movie for that matter. But I think at this point, it's been 14 years since the movies release and we should just move on. You would be surprised how eerily similar in terms of debilitation these diseases can be in the latest stages. They both leave the person basically locked in their own body, unable to move, talk or swallow and they are both vulnerable to Pneumonia. Parkinson's Disease is arguably in the same league of severity. It may be the case. I mean Annette Funicello's husband tried to keep his wife's severe deterioration hidden from the public once her Multiple Sclerosis was advanced beyond a certain point. The press only got a picture of her a few years before she died because of a house fire where she was brought out in her wheelchair looking almost lifeless. She looked Hispanic in ''Thirteen'' too. I'm surprised she's Jewish - she looks Latin (Spanish, Italian, Greek etc.) No. Just a more masculine looking woman. Maybe she has PCOS? No. Not a psychopath but I agree about the evolving Narcissism though. You see for some people, especially girls who are bullied though their child and teen years may decide as adults that they're not going to bother with people anymore and instead they focus on themselves. Eventually they become apathetic to others and their emotional needs and only serve themselves satisfying their own interests. It happens a lot. She is attractive but somehow her acting was better in the Wolf Of Wall street then anything she's been in recently. It's like she's deteriorated in acting ability. She was completely normal looking in the first season of the secret life on an American teenager. I think it was the haircut that really took away from her looks. The woman did not grow up to have the prettiest ''features'' or the best skin. Good hair makes a difference and she blew it there lol. If the woman actually put in the original cast members and some news ones and set the tone as something that captured the vibe of the first two films then it could have been fine. Paul was just right out of his head. Asperger's syndrome was removed from the DSM in 2013. Today the diagnostic definition of Autism is going back to its medical beginnings as being a disorder of the sufferer being in a world of their own and having a very high co-morbid of intellectual disability. People with social problems and non-verbal weakness (picking up on social cues) are not considered to be Autistic. Asperger's was an enormous mistake of a disorder as it created an epidemic of over diagnosis of non-autistic children. You are very likely NOT Autistic OP, especially if you were diagnosed under the old criteria. And the shows portrayal of Autism is right out of fantasy (even though i understand it's a remake). There is literally not one Autistic person with this presentation of Autism. Let's have a reality check here, the absolute majority of Autistic people are not employed and live with their parents or in group homes well into adulthood. Savant syndrome is incredibly rare and when it happens it's nothing like this. I feel like mainstream media likes to underplay the severity of Autism... No her career is ''ruined'' because we;re not in the 2000's anymore. Same for Raven. These women are in their 30's, overweight and ageing badly. They had their era and that is over now. The only other movie I saw him in was the Devil wears Prada and thought he was just a ''basic'' actor. Then the Lovely Bones came out and I was just spellbound by his performance. I hadn't a clue he was so talented. This may seem weird for me to write, but I always felt sorry for Kay - She was so unloved. The black sheep of her family, treated poorly by her mother and rejected constantly by the man she loved for her thin, blonde cousin. Of course this pity mostly relates to the ''Kay'' from the 2001-2003 season of the show - the actress that played her made the character sympathetic. It almost seemed like the Kay character had an extreme version of a ''borderline personality disorder''. Yep, that sounds about right in every aspect. They got the wrong kid. She didn't get the southern Italian looks or the low I.Q of her Mom or Dad. She wasn't their's. She's getting too old and her age is showing. She had no acting ability whatsoever, her entire purpose was to look good on screen (and she did that well). What parts can she get given her age and ability in 2017? basically nothing. Drinking alcohol heavily is more affiliated with his type of Pancreatic Cancer (adenocarcinoma) than Smoking because it inflames the Pancreas. Unfortunately for him he did both. Heavy drinker, heavy smoker. Poor man, he lived so foolishly at an age where a person should be slowing down and taking better care of themselves. When you are young it's much easier to get away with his kind of lifestyle (for a while anyway).
