It's against the law to discriminate a person with disabilities, you sound like an ableist (you dislike/have a fear of people who are disabled), and there are people out there who are sensitive to discriminatory language.
Calling a disabled person retarded is like a white/Asian/latino person calling someone who's black a n****.

I'd be careful of the shit that many "celebrity" confessions that are posted on reddit, as they could be random people posting any stories while trying to pose as a former child actor.
I don't think it's Josh Byrne (Brendan) either, because Step by Step finished in 1998, and the guy that's posting this story is saying that people bug him for a reunion for a show that finished 14 years ago. The post was from 4 years ago, people want a tv show reunion 10 years prior to that timeline, therefore (10+4=14). SbS finished 22 years ago, the numbers don't add up.
The reddit poster should come clean with his/her identity, and name their abusers otherwise they'll look like a liar trying to seek attention or forgotten fame.

I think the movie director/writer did that for “shock” value to the audience, in the movie The Hot Chick they did something similar but Rob Schneider kissed Anna Farris instead of the lead actor. I think Freaky ripped off The Hot Chick big time!
I agree, the Deaf community shouldn’t be complaining that a hearing person is portraying them in a tv series/movie, because Deaf actors won’t be able to hear or understand what the director/crew/etc is trying to tell them. It can also be frustrating if a Deaf actor had a sign interpreter on set with them to help interpret everything that’s going on around them.
It’s probably easier for everyone involved on the set of movies/tv shows to get a hearing actor to play a Deaf character than to get an actual Deaf actor. No one’s stopping the Deaf community from making their own movies using their own Deaf actors.
The Deaf community consists a group of individuals who are Deaf/Hard of Hearing, and yes there’s a hearing community.
How do you know this is very real? Do you go to another persons house, tell them how to live their lives, and expect no retribution?
