His only option is to initiate the self-destruct mechanism and take as many Klingons with it as possible. Believing he has the upper hand, Kruge shows Kirk mercy by allowing him a very uncharacteristic amount of time to surrender. This makes no sense given Kruge's ruthlessness. Surely a man who killed his own lover simply for knowing too much would think nothing of pushing demands on humans on his own terms. The only explanation is that Kruge felt Kirk was an honorable opponent, which is odd considering that the two had never met before. 1 Spock's Connection With Genesis It's never explained how the legendary Vulcan Spock manages to form some sort of a psychic connection with the Genesis planet, although many fans could point towards Vulcan telepathy as a possible avenue. Nevertheless, it's hard to imagine why the Vulcan race wouldn't be as in-tune with their own planet as Spock was to Genesis. After all, Spock arrived on the Genesis planet after its matrix had already taken shape, and was not present at the very start. Theoretically, the bond would have to be present from the first second. Still, it makes for an interesting plot device.
http://www.agcwebpages.com/BLINDITEMS/2020/DECEMBER.html 98. ENTERTAINMENT LAWYER 12/10 **2** https://www.crazydaysandnights.net/2020/12/blind-item-2_10.html The skeevy kids show producer (Dan Schneider) might not be hands on involved with the reboot ("iCarly") at his former network (Nickeloden), but with his best friend (Brian Robbins) running the show, he was able to keep one of the stars (Jennette McCurdy) off it. You know, because she said things about him and didn't try hard enough to stay quiet about the 30 something producer essentially living with the actress when she was 16. So, the big star (Miranda Cosgrove) gets a comeback because she kept her breakdown to herself and didn't broadcast her life to the world and how she continues to struggle in the aftermath of the show. As for Munck, Kogen tweeted: “We’ve approached him.” Some old newspaper articles from the '80s about Drew's stints in rehab: https://www.deseret.com/1988/12/24/18788935/drew-barrymore-released-from-rehabilitation-center https://www.latimes.com/archives/la-xpm-1988-12-23-me-762-story.html https://www.latimes.com/archives/la-xpm-1989-02-21-vw-242-story.html Should ABC have kept Just the Ten of Us and cancelled its parent show, Growing Pains instead? By the time the '90s got underway, the show was running on fumes so to speak. I think it was around this time, that Kirk Cameron was becoming increasingly difficult to work with following his religious reawakening. And it wouldn't be too long afterward that the show had to work around Tracey Gold's real life eating disorder. So you in effect, had an already aging show with a problematic and uncooperative star and another one who was dealing with life and death health issue. So why wasn't Growing Pains more expendable come 1990 than Just the Ten of Us? Nigella Lawson defends her pronunciation of "microwave" as "me-crow-wav-vey" as a "camp joke" https://www.huffingtonpost.com.au/entry/nigella-lawson-microwave-goes-viral_au_5fd0b2e4c5b652dce584ab11 "Well, I do say it like that, but not because I think that’s how it’s actually pronounced," the TV chef tweeted in response to the hoopla over her odd pronunciation. She later clarified that it's "a camp joke that's becomes a habit." Is this BETTER!!!? :/ (I didn't know that this was suddenly English comprehension class) From the moment Trump voter fraud witness Melissa Carone went viral last week, it was obvious that SNL was going to have Strong impersonate her in a sketch since Carone reminded many of Strong's “Girl You Wish You Hadn’t Started A Conversation With at a Party” character. "Trying to stop Saturday Night Live from putting Cecily Strong in the cold open as the role of Carone was as futile and absurd as commanding the moon or the tides," says Matthew Dessem. That's why Slate's Lili Loofbourow warned that SNL, with its massive platform, shouldn't validate voter fraud "cranks" like Carone, who was recently on probation for harassing her ex-boyfriend. "The fact is we’re in a crank pandemic and there’s no vaccine," wrote Loofbourow. "Judging by the overnight sensation she’s become, Carone’s is a form of brashness Americans still don’t have much resistance toward. Trumpian in an extremely obvious and enthusiastic way, either by coincidence or design, she’s causing a response that echoes the way so many responded to Trump before he won the highest office in the land: laughing him off and looking forward to SNL." Dessem adds: "It is always a delight to watch Cecily Strong play someone aggressively unpleasant, even when it’s bad for America. On the other hand, the way this Saturday Night Live sketch became a historical inevitability in a matter of days was yet another reminder that we’re nothing but puppets dancing on History’s strings, frog legs twitching when the current hits, pulled helplessly through time by forces we can neither name nor understand, and haven’t we already been through enough this year?" Is Spider-Man 3 a Spider-Verse Sinister Six Movie? https://www.denofgeek.com/movies/is-spider-man-3-a-spider-verse-sinister-six-movie/ With Alfred Molina joining Spider-Man 3 as Doctor Octopus, are Sony and Marvel collecting Spidey's greatest villains from the multiverse? https://www.denofgeek.com/movies/redeeming-the-legacy-of-the-godfather-part-iii/
Sofia Coppola was not a professional actress when she took the role of Mary in The Godfather Part III to help her father out of a jam. Winona Ryder had been cast in the role initially, but dropped out just before the start of filming after showing up for work suffering from what doctors called complete exhaustion. Other actresses considered for the role, such as Laura San Giacomo, Annabella Sciorra and even Madonna were rejected by Francis Coppola as too old to play the character, which he envisioned as a teenager. But Sofia’s performance — in a role crucial to the story — was called out upon the film’s release by many critics, some in nasty personal tones, as the movie’s own fatal mistake. Talia Shire says her experience on the first Godfather was similar in some ways to her niece’s unexpected dive into the saga. “That first one, you could ask, what do you need a sister for? Because it was already very politically complex,” she muses. “So I used to wonder what I was doing on that first one. But I believe that when Winona dropped out (of Part III) that the movie could have unraveled right there, just like that. It was Sofia who saved it, at a great cost to her that she did not deserve. But she saved it because it went forward and Francis was extremely focused.” But Shire adds that the aftermath for Sofia — the storm of criticism she faced — was beyond the pale. “If you look at Pauline Kael’s review back then, she highlights Sofia as giving an excellent performance because she had an incredible innocence,” says Shire. “I liked her performance back then. What I didn’t like — and I have to tell you, I don’t want it to churn myself up because now it’s 30 years — but I was really furious with some of those hurtful things that were said. They were just…it went past what you felt was even critical anymore. It had moved into something that was almost vulgar.”
https://youtu.be/Y1xmPOUaTyM At 2:33, Ariana Grande is alone with in a room and she looks extremely uncomfortable. MCU's Spider-Man 3 Reportedly Bringing Back Andrew Garfield For Spider-Verse https://screenrant.com/mcus-spider-man-3-reportedly-bringing-back-andrew-garfield-for-spider-verse/ It's also obvious that some commenters (I'm looking at you Metatron1970) took what I posted out of context. My point is that if Twitter had existed on December 8, 1980, then the rumors and allegations about John Lennon's alleged "dark side" as both a husband and father would've justified or not, been more immediately scrutinized or dissected. It's like when Sean Connery passed away and that interview that he did with Barbara Walters, where he said that a man should be allowed to slap a woman was immediately called back into the conversation. Howard Cosell announced John Lennon's death on Monday Night Football 40 years ago tonight https://theathletic.com/2200812/2020/12/08/john-lennon-howard-cosell-monday-night-football-anniversary-new-york-friendship/ During the 4th quarter of an unremarkable game between the Miami Dolphins and New England Patriots on Dec. 8, 1980, Cosell broke the news that the former Beatle had been shot and killed outside of his apartment in New York City. “We have to say it: “Remember, this is just a football game, no matter who wins or loses," Cosell said. "An unspeakable tragedy, confirmed to us by ABC News in New York City: John Lennon, outside of his apartment building on the West Side of New York City, the most famous perhaps of all of the Beatles, shot twice in the back, rushed to Roosevelt Hospital, dead on arrival.” Cosell, who was initially reluctant to break the news during a sporting event, was friendly with Lennon having interviewed him twice, once on his radio show and, memorably, on Monday Night Football in 1974. That's basically saying that, it's my parents fault that I'm such an asshole towards my immediate loved ones as an adult. You're pretty much giving one an excuse to deflect their personal responsibility. What the hell does that have to do with John Lennon!? And I don't understand why something like that (a show that was syndicated) should perturb you.
