I'm "turning aggressive" in your words, because you're making a pretty baseless and petty accusation (suggesting that I must get paid to post "tabloid trash") and instead of actually focusing on the subject at hand. And you were attacking me, because why else would you say something like "Are you paid to constantly share tabloid trash all over this site?" in the very first place?

Didn't the cowboy villain Shame (played by Cliff Robertson) use fear gas? So in a sense, he was probably the closest thing to Batman 1966's version of Scarecrow.

With Hercules finally getting the Disney live-action treatment, it's worth thinking about who would be the best actor to take on the iconic role.
The simplest explaining that I've heard is that Val Kilmer kind of quit and also kind of got fired. He quit in part because he was miserable filming in the Batsuit because it was so hot and difficult to move around. He also said in his book, that Warren Buffet's grandkids once visited the Batman Forever set and they completely ignored him despite him being in the Batsuit at time. But he may have gotten fired because like you said, he didn't see eye to eye with the director Joel Schumacher. Plus, Kilmer had booked The Saint without giving Warner Bros. and the Batman production staff a heads up. Val Kilmer even back then, had a reputation of being a testy, problematic actor to deal with.

40 years ago, Supergirl's first solo cinematic outing bombed critically and financially, making her debut in the DCU reboot even more important.
I saw Daniel Waters on the Icons Unearthed show on Batman Returns and he too gave me the vibe that he was something of a douchy edgelord. Plus, by several accounts the original screenplay that Waters wrote for Batman Returns before Wesley Strick was brought in sucked.

I also somehow, get the feeling that Tim Burton didn't want to use people for whom he perceived were "Jon Peters people" like Billy Dee Williams and Kim Basinger. Perhaps, they were examples of actors who were more or less, "forced onto" Burton.
And Daniel Waters, who was the screenwriter for Batman Returns, admitted on Icons Unearthed that he didn't like Robert Wuhl's Alexander Knox character. Knox was actually originally going to die at the end of Batman 1989. And Robert Wuhl even said that maybe by keeping his character alive, that would mean that they'll inevitably bring him back for the sequel.
Daniel Waters was interviewed on the third episode of Vice TV's Icons Unearthed series on the Batman movies, and he said that Tim Burton brought in Wesley Strick to "punch up" his Batman Returns script. Waters made it known that he wasn't appreciative of Strick putting a bunch of real world pop cultural stuff like Alfred mentioning to Bruce "The Love Connection" or Bruce name dropping Norman Bates and Ted Bundy to Selina Kyle.

I was watching Vice TV's Icons Unearthed series, and Billy Dee Williams was interviewed saying that when he did Batman 1989, he really didn't interact or collaborate with Tim Burton that much. Jon Peters brought Billy Dee for the Harvey Dent role, and Billy Dee was hopeful that down the line, it would inevitably lead to him to becoming Two-Face.
But of course, by the time that Batman Returns rolled around, Tim Burton didn't want a lot of "baggage" from the first movie to carry over since he was now given creative carte blanche over the sequel. So a lot of characters from the first movie such as Vicki Vale, Alexander Knox, and Harvey Dent had to go.
Batman Forever like the 1989 movie in its own way, was I believe, a compromised film. They still wanted to retain some of the darkness and pathos of the Tim Burton ones (i.e. the stuff with Dick Grayson wanting revenge against Two-Face and the Red Book subplot involving Bruce Wayne's father), yet Warner Bros. didn't want too far like they did with Batman Returns. So Forever was decidedly more optimistic and "mainstream" (i.e. less weird, gross, and "Tim Burtony" as seen in Returns).
Joel Schumacher before that, directed The Lost Boys, which you could argue, was a dark and pulpy comic book type of movie. So on paper at least, you would think that directing a Batman movie would be something that was up his wheelhouse.
