The original worked well and tied everything up nicely. The actors played their roles well, the make up effects were decent. Is the director trying to re-release in hopes of a bigger financial impact?

shareJust saw this and can only agree. There's a few scenes I like in Malum (the head pop-off scene is particularly effective), the production quality is higher and some of the acting is better. But the more cliched, fleshed-out storyline of the lead character being part of a plan, having been born into the cult, killing her mother instead of a random person, etc. fell flat for me. Overall, I prefer Last Shift.
