This film is a hodge-podge of story lines held together by visual effects and some genuinely scary moments.
All in all though, what really happened?
Not very much.
The multiverse cameos were almost blink and then they're gone.
Why did they even bother?
Why does any movie get made? To tell a story.
This one was for Strange to move on from Christine while showing how Wanda couldn't move on and fell to evil. Pretty basic story that was IMO stylish and well told.
This film was made to make money and it shows.
I have no problem with capitalism, but the MCU formula is starting look tired.
A few crumbs to the woke crowd with the "two mums" but otherwise more of the same old same old.

Agreed. It's another filler entry in the MCU. Just like Black Widow (coming after Endgame) was for instance. They probably knew after No Way Home they could half ass it with this and still make a ton of money.
They sneak in the odd "by the numbers" MCU film every once in a while.
