The movies all felt like their own thing why even call this a reboot

Apparently they took the wrong turn. This time they'll try the other turn.

that's why it's called "reboot" and not "remake".

/offtopic: it says on your post "posted a year ago" - is this a moviechat glitch or where did you see this movie a year ago? according to imdb the earliest release was January 26, 2021.

Indeed. I'll be damned if the makers weren't influenced big time by it. It's really like a cross between the original Wrong Turns and The Village.
