Obviously spoilers below:

LaForge wanted to keep the -D a surprise, and Worf had something to do with what happened to the -E.

Wrong. Only the original Enterprise got destroyed. A was recommissioned from USS Yorktown which was fine and got decommissioned then mothballed aka placed in museum. As for the Sovereign-class, E, Captain Worf did something to did after it got repaired after the Nemesis incident either through destruction, wreckage or incapacitation.

yea, I 4got about the ending of undiscovered country...

The A had holes punched in it, but was still flyable at the end of ST6

Figure it was noteworthy for the ship it replaced (which WAS destroyed) and for its role in the Khitomer battle & treaty

Sovereign class Enterprise wasn't especially noteworthy per se, and in any case was apparently destroyed (everyone looks at Worf who insists it wasn't his fault)

And of course, we now know where the Galaxy class patchwork ship had been hiding
