The Future 3 Movies' Plots

"James Mangold, Dave Filoni and Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy will each direct a Star Wars film. Mangold’s will take place 25,000 years before “Star Wars: Episode IV — A New Hope” and tell the story of the discovery of “the Force” and the first Jedi to wield it. Star Wars whisperer Filoni’s film will conclude the interconnected stories being woven between “The Mandalorian,” “The Book of Boba Fett” and the soon-to-debut “Ahsoka” series. Obaid-Chinoy’s film will usher in the return of Daisy Ridley as Rey. The film will take place 15 years after Rey’s last appearance, in “Star Wars: Episode IX — The Rise of Skywalker,” and focus on her attempt to rebuild the Jedi Order."

Sounds good. I'm there.

Did you say that for free?

My anger about crappy Episode 8 sequel film has finally subsided after MANY, MANY, MANY years. Now, I can laugh at it and the other crap Episode 9 film when they're on TV.

Disney can only deliver fan films, not anything original and groundbreaking like Lucas once did. The toxic fans chased him away.

Anyway, I've always liked the Old Republic universe since playing the video games so a movie sounds good to me.

Filoni’s Mandalorian series is good so a movie is fine with me.

And I never had a problem with the sequel trilogy characters - just the God-awful writing. Creating a Jedi Academy sounds interesting and was also explored in video games.

I'm cautiously semi-optimistic.

Don't be. Assume that it will all be crap....because it probably will be, and if it isn't you will be pleasantly surprised.

"Don't be"

Do you like Andor and Mandalorian? Or have you completely given up on the franchise?

I expect mediocrity. I'm a Lucas Star Wars fan - not Disney. Lucas was a groundbreaker.

reply

I liked Andor. The Mandalorian was good fun for the first two seasons but so far in season 3 it feels like it should be called "Bo-Katan and her little silver-plated cuck".

I’m down for 25,000 years before A New Hope. I wonder if they’ll show Coruscant when it was just trees, villages, farmland, and mountains. The discovery of The Force is intriguing. Hopefully written right and it will be good.

Trees and farmland? John Deere starships?

reply

Aye, that's right. Farmers! Even Coruscant, the planet-wide megacity was once a much... quieter place. Maybe we'll even get to see the mountain that we saw only the peak of in the Mandalorian.

That was a bit weird that...
