More diversity casting nonsense.

Sorry but the story is set in the early 1900's when interracial marriage was illegal in the midwest where it was set. Yet here we go throwing in a mixed cast just to placate the minority loons ... What next will we get a WWII film where Hitler is a Jewish black transgender hell bent on killing the Jews that will be played by hispanics? I don't give a damn if they want diversity casting in a modern movie, but for the love of god don't go against historical fact... unless we are to expect movies where cavemen sit around watching TVs instead of campfires.

I hate it when they go against history like in last years film overlord where they had black paratroopers in WW 2 such stupid shit, next thing you know they are going to start making movies about talking animals i mean come on that couldnt happen

"God a fictional story takes artistic license!"

reply

Exactly I agree

reply

Why does it matter? It is not a documentary. It is a family movie about talking dogs having a romance. It doesn't need to be completely historically accurate or realistic.

reply

Because it distorts the history of the country, where with the current pathetic public school system a good many kids will only know history of that time period by the movies they watch.

Frankly blacks should be even more upset with this movie as no only do they throw in a black wife, but they don't giver her straight white hair to make her appear more white. If you wanted to have a black woman in a movie why can't she have black hair?

reply

It is not meant to be a history lesson. It is entertainment. People should just enjoy it as a film and not take it so seriously.

reply

It's a stupid film and it could at least be accurate. Might as well have some educational value and stop pandering to SJW cancer.

reply

They must of thought: we have talking dogs as a fiction so we may as well add more fiction to it lol

reply

It's about talking dogs, which did not exist in the early 20th century, and as far as I know, still do not.

reply

No shit. But when you watch a movie that where the backdrop plays no real role in a movie you expect it to remain realistic. There was no point to throwing in an interracial couple where it wouldn't have existed as it was jarring to the setting of the movie, just as it would have been ridiculous to have mad elephant swimming in the river by the steam boats... It served no purpose for the story and only detracted from it.

reply

It looks midwestern but publicity states that it was set in a New England Town (still, in looks and culture,e sp.back then,. idnetical to the midwest..)

These days :

Historical accuracy = racist
Historical non accuracy = new and progressive

Lol waiting for a movie about world war 2 where Hitler loves Jewish people lol
