This is why I don't like horror movies.

Because true, gut-wrenching, sympathetic terror isn't to be found in bad movies with phoney monsters, it's out there in the real world. Sometimes, people even seek it out, as in this film.

And very, very rarely, the heart-stopping terror is wrapped up in heart-stopping beauty, and I don't think I've ever seen a better example of that than this film! HIGHLY recommended.

I’m in awe of these people. Climbing is dangerous enough to begin with, but doing it without any safety equipment is crazy.

It was an amazing film. Definitely one of the best documentaries I've seen in a long time.

I didn't seen any of the other Oscar nominees, but it's hard for me to think that any of them would be better than Free Solo.

As you say, there is a lot of natural beauty on display in this film. Honnold's ability and courage is also on display, as is his unique personality.

Watching this film tonight was a great experience, and I understand what you mean about terror: Just thinking back to some of the climbing footage makes my hands sweat.

Even though I knew going in that he did not get killed, I jumped every time he slipped, and I was nervous the whole time.
