Is there anybody who didn't know that Sauron was gonna be the straight white male? Was it supposed to be a mystery?

There was a popular youtuber in Spanish language joking several weeks ago about how he was gonna be Sauron since he was the only potential candidate who was a straight white male.

BINGO.

Not that everybody else couldn't reach the same conclusion easily. 😂

I wonder if there was anybody who didn't know it. Was is supposed to be a "plot twist"? Some type of "mystery"? Perhaps a... "surprise"? OH!!! Look!! The evil guy is the straight white male!! Who would have imagined!!! 🤣🤣

I was pulling hard for it to be Isildur’s horse, but turns out the show runners were afraid of being accused of speciesism.

Indeed… I was hoping that it turned out Galadriel was Sauron, and the real Galadriel was being held captive in the northern Forodwaith Ice Fortress since the opening episode. Because let’s face it, just about everything she has done in this season has contributed to Sauron’s goals.

That would have been a great twist 😂

Or maybe Sauron has been the real Galadriel all along, and the Galadriel we met in the Lord of the Rings was just a doppleganger placed by Gandalf to prevent the Elves from running away, which would explain why that Galadriel and Gandalf are so close.

Well sauron was a white male in LOTr

Actually, he was more of an orange eye. And even in the flashbacks when he had a physical form in the huge battle scene, they didn't show his skin. He coulda been a cullert if that makes you feel better.

reply

Not really, he wasn't even human. None of those three descriptors could properly be applied to him.

reply

I thought he was gonna turn out to be Disa's strong gravy.
