Spahn ranch scene observation

Did the house where George and squeaky were in remind you of Hitchcock’s Psycho house?
Especially cliffs walk up

reply

George's house was much smaller and there weren't as many stairs. I don't really see it, but everyone sees different things that remind them of something else so your observation is valid.

reply

I wasn’t comparing the way the houses looked, but how that scene was filmed, looked and felt.
The dread and mystery about what was in that house

reply

There's that, and the music that QT put over the scene seems almost certain to have been composed by the late musical composer Bernard Herrmann, who scored Psycho, Vertigo and 6 other movies for Alfred Hitchcock. I'm not sure this music is exactly FROM Psycho...but it is from the man who scored Psycho, of that I am sure.

Music from another Hitchcock movie by Bernard Herrmann -- his unused music for "Torn Curtain" is used in the opening flame thrower Nazi movie clip.

reply

Oh I see. I will have to pay attention to that part when I see it again.

I did enjoy the suspense leading up to Cliff actuaLLy walking up those stairs! The worm's eye view of the house was intense as hell
