So any one read the supposed SPOILER Leaks for this from last year?

I'm very much looking forward to this because it has the chance to finally get the spirit of the games right. But its a massive headstracher that they're combining RE1/RE2 together into a single story. It begs the question of whats in it and what won't be and there's the fact there were leaks that detailed some of the characters backstories for this particular rebooted story of RE.

First we have all the main Game Characters for the most part that were crucial to RE1/RE2.

Chris, Jill, Leon, Claire, Wesker, Ada, William Birkin.

We also got Chief Irons, Enrico, Richard and we have yet to learn whether Rebecca or Barry will even make an appearance.

Then there's the list of enemies that were hinted at via marketing.

Zombies, Dogs, Crimson Heads, Yawn the Snake, Neptune the Shark, Lisa Trevor.

And of cause we also have the Playing Card Inspired Keys from RE2 somehow playing a role in this.

First up, Chris and Claire. They're supposedly Orphans who grew lost their parents and grew up in a Orphange together in Raccoon City alongside Lisa Trevor who is Claire's childhood friend.

Lisa Trevor is supposedly the main monster/stalker enemy in the film chasing after Claire.

Raccoon City is no longer rich and advanced but a shit hole of a town that Umbrella uses to their advantage to hide their experiments and use human test subjects.

The Orphange is inspired by the RE2 Remake Orphange and they took kids to use as test subjects from there including Lisa.

Wesker works for Ada Wong. Towards the end he supposedly gets killed by Zombies/left for dead but Ada comes in and saves his life.

Leon is already a Officer trying to live up to his Father's legacy. His Dad was one of the best cops ever in the City and Leon is finding it difficult to live up to that mantle. Okay, that's a huge departure from the character of the games already. Its a interesting take but its also a cliche one none the less.

Irons supposedy works for Umbrella like in the game but gets betrayed by them and ends up joining the good guys to escape the city. Doesn't mention if he dies or lives but I assume he bites the dust like his game counterpart. Interesting to note is in the original RE1.5 Irons was supposed to be a good guy. Maybe they combined both versions and we get the sleazy Irons who has a change of heart and maybe regrets his actions?

No idea what role Birkin plays or whether G will even appear. No mention of Annette or Sherry.

Supposedly the main characters escape the City as it gets nuked or destroyed. So there won't be a sequel RE movie set in Raccoon City with Nemesis. I hope this is bullshit and that the movie ends with setting Nemesis and the STARS team having to escape the city.

Right now, the biggest thing is, how is this movie gonna progress structure wise?

Do we get a recreation of RE1 with the STARS crash landing in the woods and fleeing to the Mansion then cutting to Raccoon City and seeing the T-Virus spread and Leon and Claire trying to survive there while being chased by Lisa Trevor and working with Irons?

Or is the Mansion part similar to Resident Evil Vendetta's CGI film where it only plays a role for the first 10 minutes or so minutes as a opener and then after the STARS learn the truth they rush back to warn the city but it goes to shit fast and they have to escape?

Or does the story start in Raccoon City with the murders and infection happening there and the main characters trace the leak of the virus to this Mansion and the whole second half or third act takes place there instead?

So many questions and we have no idea or what role Yawn and Neptune even play though I imagine Richard will get eaten by the snake and Enrico will get eaten by Neptune unless other game characters from Bravo Team appear to be the red shirts of the film.

Im hoping that first trailer blows me away. In terms of casting Im fine with the actors for the most part.

Never seen Chris' Actor in anything.

Like Claire's.

Jill's Actress is a good actress and I don't mind the mixed race issue. Jill in canon is Japanese/French herself and not a white american woman actually so she was always already mixed in the canon to begin with. Plus again, I generally like the Actress so she's got the chance to pull off this version of Jill.

Wesker's choice of Actor is weird. I like the guy. He was great in Black Sails. But its weird they got him. Would have preferred the guy who plays Homelander in The Boys instead really. He's already got the look, acting chops and crazy intense feel down to the T. Hope this guy does a better job than Shawn Roberts.

Birkin's Actor is another one I've seen in TV and films and I like him. But Im curious what role he plays. Maybe he releases the virus and Wesker assassinates him and Birkin turns himself into G at the end and we get G vs Lisa Trevor who dies trying to protect Claire and Chris? The fact they had to make that connection makes it feel as if we're gonna get Nemesis 2.0 from Apocalyse basically.
