Harris' age

I know that TV shows, especially sitcoms, sometimes change the age of a character, but I think it's still worth pointing out. Harris was born in episode 9.19, aired on 2-25-97. She should be 21. They didn't state her age in the first 2 episodes, but she is still in high school.

Agreed.

In tonight's episode they said she is 15. Yep, they really changed her age a lot, LOL.

When she said I thought that couldn’t be right. I knew she had to be older.

They also won the lottery and Dan died.

They are pretty much ignoring the last season or two.

I noticed that too. That 5-6 year difference changes the aspect of Darlene's young age pregnancy, which then would have changed the course of her career-pursuing path. But it seems like she still didn't go much of anywhere. Hmm.

The 9th season didn't happen, though, it was just a book Roseanne had written. Perhaps Darlene had a miscarriage.

reply

Could be.

Good point

The existence of Roseanne's book in the continuity allows for them to always pass it off as "Well Darlene could have been impregnated with Harris later than originally thought and Roseanne just changed it for her book."

Unfortunately, now that the book has been kept (somewhat) within canon, we'll forever be left wondering just how much of seasons 1-9 were "real" and how much was just "fiction".

We know that almost all of Season 9 was book-only, save for Harris but now I guess we have to include Darlene and David's wedding into the book because the whole reason they married when they did was because she was pregnant with Harris. Season 8 was mid-90s. This would require Harris' actual birth to take place in 2002-2003.

The existence of Roseanne's book throws everything out of whack. Dan now is actually alive and it turns out that the spouse swaps, Dan's death, Bev being gay, etc were all just a part Roseanne's book as well.
