She's Beautiful, Hot, Naturally Funny, Good Actress.

You're Jealous.

People on this board are so childish. Do they go over to the Hangover board and call Allen fat? No. They praise that movie like it's an Oscar Winner. God forbid you defend this movie you are called a "fatty" or a "Chubby Chaser". I guess I have to realise that most of the people in this world are sad little creatures. I won't even say it's mental illness because that would be a compliment.

"I won't even say it's mental illness because that would be a compliment."

LOL....

Firstly, mental health shaming is as discriminatory and damaging as racism, sexism, homophobia and any other form of identity-based bigotry.

Secondly, I am not a fan of The Hangover films, for roughly the same reason I'm not the biggest fan of Amy Schumer: they're crude and vulgar, and in the specific case of The Hangover films they promote a chauvinist fratboy mentality that celebrates convicted rapists like Mike Tyson. However, Zack Galifanakis's character is not remotely comparable with Amy Schumer's protagonists. 'Allen' is meant to be a pathetic, pitiful man-child with serious mental health issues (another reason I dislike this franchise is the way it invites us to laugh at the mentally ill). He is not presented to us as an aspirational or 'hot' character. Fat-shame him all you like, because I'm pretty sure that's what the film is inviting us to do. By contrast, we're supposed to think Amy Schumer is cool and attractive and desirable.

That is why I said saying it was mental illness is a compliment. You clearly read that wrong. Secondly I was agreeing with you. I was not even talking about you. I was talking about the people you said were jealous. I can't believe you deleted your post when I was 100% on your side.

reply

This is a movie about a delusional woman who thinks she's hot. Delusional fans too!

reply

You forgot that her farts smell like roses, I know because I tried them numerous times and still dream of getting farted some more...
Nice troll bait, but a bit too much on the nose, don't you think?

reply

I know you're a good well-meaning person TemporaryOne, but sometimes I feel you're trying to push the right-on liberal line a little too hard, and I then end up doubting your sincerity.

Sorry, but without wishing to cause any offence, I genuinely find Amy Schumer to be homely, unattractive, crude, and not especially talented. That's how I naturally feel. I'm not a misogynist. I'm not a conservative. It's just a natural response I feel to her independent of pollical leanings or any agenda.

reply

I know you're a good well-meaning person MalkovichMalkovi , but you're projecting labels again.

Sorry, but without wishing to cause any offence, I genuinely find Amy Schumer to be beautiful, hot, naturally funny, a good actress, regardless of her political leanings or any agenda. The people who attack her are purely agenda-driven. Pretty sure her being Jewish and related to Chuck Schumer has a lot to do with it as well (she's directly related to Chuck Schumer, a very pro-Israel Democratic Senator who has been viciously attacked by Democrats because of his very pro-Israel stance). I feel Vincent Gallo is the same (beautiful, excellent actor, etc), a brilliant director/photographer/artist, and he's a hardcore pro-Trump Republican. The people who attacked him endlessly over The Brown Bunny did so not because of the film but because of his outspoken political agenda and because of their real jealousy towards his physical looks.

reply

Well, in the interests of balance, I don't especially care for Vincent Gallo either.

And I do in fact like Chuck Schumer for the most part, even if I don't care for Amy.

reply

I also do like Chuck Schumer. Crying shame he cannot run for President.

reply

But, for some of the reasons you outlined in your last post (i.e. anti-Semitism), he probably wouldn't be able to win, even if he could run.

Bernie, who is also Jewish, is a bit more of an outlier, because although he is also susceptible to certain anti-Semitic tropes (e.g. the atheist counterculture Communist Jew), he is not part of the establishment and not, thus, associated with any of the particularly virulent 'globalist Jews who run the world' attacks one sees directed at George Soros, and other Jews of more centrist and mainstream liberal positions.

And just to be clear, as someone who is fighting against anti-Semitism, I abhor these tropes and stereotypes. But I think you know, as well as I do, that they exist.

reply

He's an outlier because he criticized Israel during the debates, Jews who do that are given a pass.....

reply

Well, even as a staunch supporter of Israel and a staunch critic of some of the anti-Semitic language that has been used in conjunction with criticism of Israel by some people, I do think Israel, particularly under Trump's BFF Netanyahu, deserves to be held to criticism right now.

reply

Agreed 100%, Perfectly Agreed 100%.

reply

Schumer can run for President of Israel. Too bad Vladimir Putin can't run for US President, since we like foreign agents so much.

reply

At least the title is funny.
