I guess all countries have class inequality

just don't think of South Korea as one.

reply

I lived there for over 7 years and yes, there certainly is a huge class inequality. S. Korea is a country the size of Indiana with a population of 50 million. Much of S. Korea isn't habitable either as it has so many hills, mountains. You wanna talk about competition? The competition for ANYTHING in S. Korea is immense. Most parents pay for their kids to go to english language school at night, just for that extra edge when the time comes for them to get employed. Parents will DO ANYTHING to get their kids into the better colleges, which basically determines the future of their career. If you think what Felecity Huffman and her ilk were doing bad things by getting their kids into good colleges, S. Koreans laugh at how normal that is in their country.

Finally, S. Korea is surrounded by their enemies, they get into constant skirmishes with China on their left, they've always had wars with the Japanese on their right, surprisingly they don't really care what the N. Koreans are doing above them. S. Korea has worked hard to be one of the richest countries in the world, but at a terrible price==S. Korea has one of the highest suicide rates in the world..more than Japan, who is KNOWN to have high suicide rates.

Great info

Why wouldn't you? South Korea is like any other modern global capitalist nation. Where there's capitalism there's inequality.

reply

Yes, those capitalist pigs in South Korea could sure learn a thing or two about equality from their cousins in the north. Everyone is equal there.

reply

and?

reply

I am willing to learn. Good movie.

Learn what?

reply

I remember that. She had to resign.

reply

obviously inequality in SK

reply

more stupidity than inequality.

reply

The nut rage incident was a result of stupidity, not inequality? Or is inequality a result of stupidity?

reply

making a big deal over it was stupidity.

reply

seeing others as inferiors(inequality), did not play a bigger part than being stupid?

Of course they do, and they always will. Not all people are equally equipped to deal with life and economics. The better equipped rise. The lesser equipped sink.
