This seems to be a modern allegory on

Noise. Too much noise: talking, arguing, cellphones beeping, loud crass music, cars, air conditioners, sirens and on and on. "Aliens" came to tell us to shut the f*ck up or we will die. Silence equals survival and (relative) peace.

Someone must have had this in mind upon creating this idea. If not, that's what jumped out at me.

Thoughts?

You may have something there. Could it be a commentary on a nation that is constantly shouting at itself? Liberals against Conservatives. Gun Control against Gun rights. Abortion v Right to Life. All this noise, no one listening or willing to listen to another person's viewpoint. Not the sign of a happy country. I am an admirer of America, but it does seem like a country full of shouters and screamers.Time for some quiet.

Ha! I like that even more than my interpretation. It's a layer deeper. I would like to think these guys had something truly profound in mine like that, but somehow I doubt it.

Sarah Marshall: It's a metaphor for addiction to technology.
Rachel Jansen: For society, how we're reliant on technology. I get it. I'm with you.
Aldous Snow: It's a metaphor for a crap movie.
