Canon denial is very annoying

For example, many people say the Terminator movies after Terminator 2 aren't canon, even though they clearly are. It's fine if you don't like the movies, but trying to claim that they're not canon just because you don't like them is ridiculous.

If you're like that, I have a question for you: What would you do if, for example, an amazing Terminator movie was made? Would that one be canon? But then wouldn't that mean the previous ones would have to become canon? Otherwise the story wouldn't make sense.

I agree it's very annoying. Entitled fans will just pick and chose what is and isn't canon. T3 and T:S are absolutely canon, for example, but it's SO FUCKING STUPID that people act like they don't exist because James Cameron isn't attached to them. He was attached to Dark Fate and that's probably the worst Terminator film!

THE WORST TO YOU...IT IS MY THIRD FAVORITE...AFTER THE ORIGINAL TWO MOVIES....I ENJOY BUT DON'T LOVE THE OTHERS...WHETHER ORNOT SOMETHING IS CANON IN THIS FRANCHISE HINGES ON WHICH FILMS YOU LIKE...PERIOD.

the phrase has lost all meaning .

People now use it to mean "sequel I didn't like"

It is quite annoying, and it almost filtered into the Alien series (probably bc they saw Terminator doing it) Neill Blomkamp almost doing a direct sequel to Aliens with Weaver and Biehn ignoring Alien3&4 somehow, at least Terminator has the (vague) excuse of time travel/alternate timelines but how would they have dealt with it in the fairly straight science/non time travel Alien series? (alternate reality? cryo sleep dreams? But probably no reason would've been given like there was none given in Halloween 2018) ..

That being said I really wanted to see the Aliens sequel, and had Genisys or Dark Fate been a truly great Terminator film it'd have been totally acceptable lol
