What did everyone here think of the Legion cut?

I prefer the theatrical much more yes. Director's opinions are overrated, yes sometimes the director's cut is much better over what the studio wanted, but more often than not, it is the theatrical version that turns out to be superior.

I've been interested in seeing the Blatty preferred cut for years. And I have to say, it was pretty disappointing. I wonder if that opinion would be swayed if the producers of this cut had access to better source material, rather than the shitty VHS copy they used. It wasn't exactly a seamless transition. But even though the exorcism at the end was a tad on the goofy side, the idea of not having Jason Miller in the final cut is what sways me to the theatrical edit.

I'd say this is one rare instance in which studio interference actually improved the final product.

Is this the one where the film ends before the possession??
Hated it. Completely pointless. Terrible, abrupt ending.

Have to agree the theatrical cut is much better than the the legion cut !

The exorcism scene has always worked in my opinion , and has powerful moments !
